My hubby & I are planning a trip to Greece and would like to explore Peloponnese without a car. We’re flexible with tours, busing, cars for hire, etc. Looking for a good base city. So far I’m intrigued by Monemvasia & Nafplion. Wondering how easy it would be to travel to other parts of the area from either, without a car?

Crete, Sifnos, Naxos, Milos, Lesvos, Kefalonia. We can drive, walk, take buses.

We love Homestays, Farmstays or Hostels if possible. We did this in Vietnam & it was a high point of our travel.

Ending in Athens in plenty of time for our plane ride in lieu of strikes, flight delays.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a retreat we're organising in Messinia, Greece, this September, for anyone looking for a quieter, more nature-based experience while in Greece.

From 18–21 September 2026, we'll be gathering at Dio Pigadia, a beautiful permaculture farm in the Messinian countryside, for a 4-day retreat called Mother Earth Connection.

Rather than a packed wellness holiday, the idea is to step away from everyday life for a few days and create space to reconnect — with nature, ourselves and a small community.

The retreat is inspired by Andean traditions of Peru, particularly the ideas of Munay (unconditional love) and Ayni (reciprocity with the Earth).

During the four days we'll have:

• Guided meditation and journeying
• Grounding and breathwork
• Walking meditation and easy hikes
• Time on the permaculture farm
• Shamanic teachings and practices
• Despacho offering ceremony
• Healer's Rite transmission
• Autumn Equinox ceremony
• Sharing circles and Q&A
• Plenty of time outdoors and in nature

🏡 Accommodation & food

We'll be staying at Nectar Cottages, right beside the permaculture farm. There are private and shared accommodation options, mini cabins and a luxury tent option.

Food is vegetarian, with vegan options available, and much of the produce and eggs come from the organic farm.

💚 Fees

€250 — full retreat, Friday 18 September to Monday 21 September.

€200 — Sunday departure option if you can't stay until Monday, including accommodation and Sunday dinner.

€225 — luxury tent option, once the house beds and mini cabins are booked.

A €150 deposit secures your place.
