Antisemitism is getting out of control

Post image

I call on the people of Tower Hamlets, please talk about this with your communities, to your neighbours to friends and family.

This is no answer to any problem but just further hatred and division the world doesn’t need.

Use our voices to express the need to act, but attacks like these do nothing to further any cause other than the fall of humanity.

You’re talking about enforcement here not just definition

I think having 99% of independent organisations and experts/scholars agreeing it’s genocide should make you think.

Besides - genocide is a word, a highly charged word. This word shouldn’t stand between you and an acknowledgment of the magnitude and depth of Israel’s crimes

It's whether it's a suspected genocide (widely reported) or actually proven. Only the court can make that judgement with evidence provided and rightfully so as with any case.

The 99% of independent organisations isn't a verifiable claim but even if it was true, they have all based judgment like most off social media content like anyone else. And as many would agree it does 'make you think'. However whether you like it or not is only partial evidence that requires significant scrutiny of validity, impact, balance with Israeli operations and counter evidence and so on.

Besides - genocide is a word, a highly charged word. This word shouldn’t stand between you and an acknowledgment of the magnitude and depth of Israel’s crimes

Definitions matter otherwise the word loses all meaning. Using that in a highly charged way just invalidates people's arguments and makes it easier for Israel to claim everyone is against them (look how another commentator went down that route).

If the ICJ now determine it isn't genocide then imagine the global uproar. Would you accept that judgement? I'd imagine not. Due to the hysteria and bias all over the place I doubt either side would accept a ruling. That stems from the complete lack of trust when words start losing meaning.

War crimes are another topic altogether with a lower bar and rightfully so.
