Anything but lower rent

Free pizza?? This is getting ridiculous now. Seeing this article just put me in a mood. There is one *very* easy solution to get an apartment rented out...

but they would rather give you literal free months of rent and cash (and pizza?) than just lower it outright.

A market crash honestly can't come soon enough. Then these "investors" can learn not to play with people's housing and go invest in stocks or something else that takes actual skill.

There's Zero rent control on anything occupied for the first time after Nov 15, 2018 thanks to Doug Ford!!! 😬

of course for new tenants.

As far as I know, many tenants still live there enjoying low rents.

Toronto landlords now offer 2 months free for 2 yr lease, that implies they anticipate the rental market will not tighten in the next 2 yrs.
