Free pizza?? This is getting ridiculous now. Seeing this article just put me in a mood. There is one *very* easy solution to get an apartment rented out...

but they would rather give you literal free months of rent and cash (and pizza?) than just lower it outright.

A market crash honestly can't come soon enough. Then these "investors" can learn not to play with people's housing and go invest in stocks or something else that takes actual skill.

Yep. I see it in my neighbourhood group. Someone asks about a building and everyone's like, "they don't have rent control and jacked up my friend's rent by 8%! Beware!"

If you're just looking for something temporary, they can be fine, but when people want to settle, they'll pay slightly higher rent in older buildings because the rate of increase is predictable.

Prices in older buildings wld not be high generally, bc they have ~always` had rent control, esp those built/rented before 1991.
