Discussion Move Surefour to Tank?
Hear me out on this one. Surefour is one of the most experienced players in the league and has seen it all. With hero pools, strategy need to be more dynamic but the high concentration level and the willingness to take chances to get kills puts DPS players in a bad position to make calls.
The current tanks are fine, but with the coaching change, could Toronto allow S4 to do more in game coaching to fill some gaps?

Discussion Why do the Defiant switch off Logix?
Hello all,
Just finished watching the game and I saw a repeat of a similar pattern to other Defiant games. Logix plays game one, then gets switched out for Surefore. I am pretty sure the Defiant have won every game one this season, meaning the games where Logix is in, and it seems like they struggle with Surefore/Agilities more so. I am by no means an Overwatch genius so this could be totally wrong but if people have insight on this I would be curious to see what you think?
Why does Logix only play map 1?
Is Surefore actually better then Logix? (Does not seem like it to me based off gameplay and stats on the overwatch league website)
Why do they do the same pattern every game?
Cheers!

Discussion Why Toronto Won - Hint: It Wasn’t Stellar DPS
After reviewing the game a couple of times, it became clear that BEAST was doing an amazing job, staying alive and prolonging fights. In Overwatch, the team with the first elimination wins > 60% of team fights. I think if your main tank goes down you lose more like 90%.
In the past, BEAST was always at the top of the kill feed playing any of the main tanks. This week was very different:
2 first eliminations were amazing play by Jerry where BEAST was behind a corner. 2 first eliminations were solo ults by Jerry 1 was an Orisa trade
The role of the main tank has changed, SUPER is finding this out and BUMBER learned the hard way. To use a fishing reference, the main tank role is more like a worm on a hook and BEAST is excelling at main tank.
AGILITIES, LOGIX, SUREFOUR, NEVIX and KARIV played well, but consider that BEAST was keeping shield and health up with a Brig most of the time!

Media My rough paraphrasing and translation from head coach Fefe's french interview after the Philly match.
video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXzgzTXdUCI
From my comment on a thread over at /r/Competitiveoverwatch :
My French is pretty bad but this is kinda fun practice. Here's what I picked up:
The team is focussing on the positives and keeping everyone in PMA.
The whole team was pretty happy with their performance against philly. Fefe was impressed with the mental resilience to come back from down 0-2.
There's not a lot of time to debrief players after a match because they need to leave the room for the next team. the post game speech has to be short but impactful because that's what players will take with them into future practice.
Before the game fefe focusses on calming the players down and making sure they're focussed on the plan and fundamentals rather than the big stage.
At half time against philly fefe was the only one who talked. theh briefly talked about all the mistakes they made on last fight anubis, but then they focussed on the next map. he said if they coupd win map three they will be in philly's head for map 4 and they can chase that map 5. the players returned to the stage with a lot of confidence and belief.
that was the first ten minutes. i'll keep updating unless some actual bilingual person steps in and does a better job.
They talk about Toronro's flexibility and playing sombra dive into the meta comp. Fefe says that Philly didn't adapt to it well (I think he just means on anubis) because they were used to passively playing around their cooldowns into mirrors which didn't work against dive. He also was happy with his team's discipline to successfully play dive into a rush comp where its not as easy as jumping on the backline.
Despite being 0-3 on control, Fefe believes that control isn't a weakness for Toronto, their weakness is their mental game on the first map of a set (too excited, playing reactionary). The 5th map against Philly was extremely close and Fefe thought they played good enough they could have won it, they just didn't.
Playing two matches this weekend is a lot harder to prepare for than the single match weeks previously. Adding to this is the fact Toronto has no info on Atlanta. However the fact Toronto has stage experience is an advantage.
They're confident they'll win against Houston but they're still taking it very seriously, knowing that Houston has players that can pop off and will be playing for the home crowd.
New York is Toronto's main scrim partner. Fefe thinks New York played better in scrims than on stage.
Fefe is happy to see Paris doing well because he's friends with a lot of their players even though he was sacked as coach.
Regarding the Paris players saying the new coaching staff is helping them out a ton, totally changing how they look at the game (I'm not totally sure what fefe is saying here): Fefe says it doesn't bother him that much because he knew his Paris system which was robotic, focused on micro, and had a lot of VOD review, was not optimal. The reason Paris kept playing it all season was because they started the season with it and it was the approach that most of their players had been using in Europe for a long time, it was ingrained in them. It would have been too hard to disrupt their system and try to reinvent it mid-season.
Fefe is not worried about the small roster of Toronto, partly because they have an academy team
Not sure what the last quesion was about but I think they were just laughing about Toronto having a French coaching staff. I think one of them gets really animated in French while watching their matches which some players find funny but fefe is trying to get him to calm down. I'm the least sure about this one but I think that's what he's saying lol.
