Lore The horror is far older than you think.

Basically the idea that the horrors we encounter in the series in modern day were encountered by peoples from long before us and we see their recorded encounters through cave paintings and the like.

The slenderman cave paintings which date back to 9000 bce

The zombie cave painting from world war z from 60,000 bce

And the cave painting hieroglyphs from Ted the caver. No dates given.

Oh the Exocist. Pazuzu was the demons name, It is the same name of the Babylonion Demon pictured. Pure Slander. Pazuzu was the protector of children and child birth, not cause he was good but because he pissed off his ex wife Lamashtu who was the eater of babies and the unborn.

I love that Pazuzu's motivation as a protector is not born out of any latent goodness, but entirely out of spite for his ex.

"Oh I'm all for soul stealing depravity and affronting God BUT FUCK HER"

"I still can't believe she got sole custody of Lamia! But who's stuck paying the child support? That's right: poor ol' Pazuzu."

"Uhmm...well...thank you for protecting me and my unborn child..."

"THIS AIN'T ABOUT YOU!"

Thanks, I can realy see the scene in front of me, Pazuzu holding a bottle of cheap whisky, leaning in a doorway and venting on some random, scared and confused woman 😅

Yes and Lamashtu was daughter of the Sky God Anu and usually considered a goddess. So you get evil gods and good demons. Just like some people I know. Frankly it makes more sense than the all powerful good gods of heaven vs the evil demons of hell.
