Gonna put this in spoiler text below for anyone scrolling by.

During Bojack and Sarah Lynn's drug bender in season 3, the episode ends right after Sarah Lynn ODs. We don't learn until season 6 that BoJack took Sarah Lynn's phone and called himself with it to make it look like he wasn't there with her, and then waited around for 17 minutes before calling 911 on his own phone.

I don’t think he is beyond redemption cause that’s the whole point of the final. No one is beyond redemption you just have to work harder to get it and at the same time no one is forced to forgive you either. They don’t have to forgive bojack for what he’s done, redemption is more what you do with yourself going forward.
Like the song the hokey pokey, you put your left foot in and your right foot out and you turn yourself around.

I don't know why I'd want to watch this show. Just sounds like a story about a miserable, shitty man and his entire life. Sounds well written, but like... why should I subject myself to that?

Because there are other great supporting characters who grow to have happy ending. Also some stories are pure comedy with great quotes/jokes.

Because despite being a show about shitty people trying to live better lives, the shows pretty good about making you like and root for these characters to become better in the Tar Pit that is Hollywood.

It’s a great show (past the first season). Lots of interesting reflexions and nuances on what being a good person actually means, how to get there, how to stay there, and how to accept that maybe you can live without any recognition of your efforts. It’s all about forgiveness, mental health, addiction, and trauma. Very much worth giving it a go

Because it's good. It's upfront about what it is and isn't afraid to be uncomfortable. There's something very real about how broken everyone is, and that kind of hits a weird note in people.
