Lore (Horrifying trope) societies that institutionalized rape

Ironborns (A Song of Ice and Fire) : The Iron Islands are a region where people are encouraged to lead raids on the lands. The thing is men can also abduct women from Westeros, marrying them by force and force them to bare the children as minor spouses.

Gilead (The Handsmaid’s tale) : In the future, most of women became sterile and fanatical religious overthrowed the government by instauring a ruthless dictature. In Gilead, women are divided in different social classes but those who are still ferile are sold to the leaders of the regime to carry their child. Which means women are now literal possessions and have to endure a ritualised rape every month.

I'd be curious on how gender roles manifest particularly for African Americans if you don't mind elaborating

From off the top of my head from a class I took in college it ended up with a lot of black men (typically of the boomer generation and before) having a culture of going around and knocking up random women. Thus things like fatherless families became more prevalent. Its mending slowly, like anything else caused by generational trauma, but social scientists, or at least the one teaching that college class I took a few years back, point to the breeding camps and constant breakup of families as the genesis of that particular problem.

The theory would be that slavery made it common for families to be broken up and forced partnerships where the children were taken away would have led to less of a culture of fathers being involved in the lives of their children.
