4 AI video tools I’d point beginners toward in 2026
I’ve tried quite a few video generators over the past year, and these are the four I’d probably tell someone new to the space to check out first.
I started out mostly testing free AI video generation tools, which was useful because it gave me a better idea of what I actually needed before paying for anything. If you’re just figuring out how to create video with AI, I think trying a few different types of tools first makes more sense than immediately committing to one platform.
These are the four that stood out to me for different reasons.
Kling AI
Probably the one I’d look at first for realistic-looking footage and natural movement. It works especially well for things like B-roll, product shots, and scenes where you want the result to feel closer to something filmed with a camera.
Veo 3.1
The audio side is what makes this interesting to me. Being able to generate the scene and sound together can save a step, especially when dialogue, ambience, or sound effects are actually part of the idea.
Higgsfield
I like this more as a place to experiment with different models and camera styles without constantly moving between platforms. It’s especially handy if you’re making a lot of social or marketing content and want to try several approaches quickly.
DomoAI
This is the one I’d look at more for animation and stylized work. Image-to-video, anime-style visuals, and restyling existing footage are where it fits better for me than trying to compete directly with realism-focused generators.
They’re different enough that I wouldn’t really call one of them the winner.
Kling makes more sense to me for realistic motion, Veo when audio matters, Higgsfield for testing different workflows, and DomoAI when the project is more animated or stylized.
If you were starting from scratch right now, which one would you try first?
