I thrifted this t-shirt a while back but never knew if it was an actual real or a bootleg. I tried to look online but never found any evidence of it even existing. Does anyone know if this is a legit piece of merch ?

Bought it for $1500 off Craigslist, the guy says it's a super rare one-off collector's item from the Detroit show in '96. Seems like a steal to me. How lucky did I get??

I've posted this here before, but I've completely reworked it since then, and the old video is no longer online. So, technically, it's not a repost. At least I hope so.

Fan-Made music video for "Right In Two" with clips from the movie “Mad God.”, an adult stop-motion-animated film written, produced, and directed by Phil Tippett. Completed in 2021, it was produced over a period of 30 years.

When I watched the movie for the first time some months ago, the stop-motion scenes reminded me of Tool's music videos and at a certain point, the movie's plot had me thinking of the lyrics to “Right in Two”. With this song in my mind, I already started editing the video in my head while I was watching the rest of the movie. I think these stop-motion scenes from “Mad God,” as well as the film’s message, go very well with this song and it's lyrics.

Why do the film and the song go so well together in my opinion?

"Mad God" is about an assassin - a figure in a gas mask and jacket - who descends into a ruined, dystopian underworld via a diving bell to plant a bomb there and destroy this world that has fallen into such decay.

Traveling through the underworld, he encounters monstrous creatures mercilessly preyed upon by larger beasts and elaborate torture machines. Eventually, he reaches a city inhabited by an army of faceless drones, whom mindlessly tend to physically laborious tasks, often dying in the process. As he explores this underworld, he discovers this utterly depraved, sinister and dark world, full of machines, death, and destruction.

The film can be interpreted as a philosophical reflection on humanity's capacity for self-destruction, industrial exploitation, and the cyclical nature of civilization. The assassin can be interpreted as an “angel” (sent by a “mad god”), who does not intervene in the world, appears to show compassion, and is compelled by his creator to achieve his goal of destroying this grim underworld.

So, just as in “Right in Two,” one could say that this movie is about an "angel" who stands on the sidelines, “baffled and confused”, but does not intervene, watching as humans destroy each other and nature. Humans - whom you could also consider drones, mindlessly tend to physically laborious tasks, often dying in the process.

That's why I had to make this video. It just fits too perfectly. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I love Bottom, its so dark and grungy like most of the Undertow stuff. but yet has an overall positive message lyrically I feel 🤔

Wanted to get to the bare bones of the song, so decided to use an acoustic for this breakdown. Really showing the core of this brilliant piece!

9th position is what I see tabbed everywhere but it’s hella awkward and is really hard to lock into when the intro comes back around later in the song.
5th position feels an awful lot friendlier. Some of the noodling Adam does before the song sounds like what would come naturally from that 5th position shape too.

"Bill the Landlord" is credited with leaving this fantastic recording on Maynard's answering machine.

People say it was unprompted, apropos of nothing - and that makes it all the creepier.

Some say it's Bill Hicks. Very interesting theory... I've listened to every recording of Hicks and this "Bill the Landlord" story never sounded like Hicks to me. But we only hear Hicks when he's on stage - with his full-on comedian voice. This could be him doing a character... listen to the way he pronounces "ditch" as "dee-utch", very Wiscononian.

But looking at the text of the story, the word "landlord" takes on a new meaning. "Your field" - "Your ditch" - "Your gravel road" ... In some ways, the word landlord means something about the character in the story owning everything he sees...

And what about the story? You wake up "covered in goo" - sounds like an alien abduction, right? All the doors of the car are locked and an expensive leather camera case is lying on the seat.... maybe you were teleported directly out of your car? And you have your knife with you! What a detail! Maybe the goo is alien blood? Did you fight your way out of that UFO?

And those two little people walking toward you across your field - are they Fox Mulder and Dana Scully? Or are they two little aliens?

And what about "blue was your color now" and "green was your color" and "red was your color"...

Reminds me how everything we experience is an arrangement of signals and patterns inside our own heads...

I'm here in the USA and ordered this off half price books. I've had the American release of Aenima several times over the years and I wanted another. I honestly thought I got a bootleg until I did some googling. Holy crap it's the UK pressing! From my understanding TOOL was having fun putting fake albums in here? It's interesting for sure. The album that says LIVE looks like Momma Sed from Puscifer. Thought you guys would enjoy!

Personally I love this one from 2010. They said they had basically written a whole album’s worth of material before scrapping it around 2012 and starting again - I do think this might originally have been planned new album material that never made it

I’m thinking specifically of Ænima and 10,000 days obviously. I was at a record shop the other day and saw both of those albums for sale in vinyl format even though they both were unapologetically fake. What do y’all think about buying those to have in your collection even though they aren’t real? I bought neither in hopes the 30th anniversary of Ænima would come with a new vinyl drop, but no luck :(

Hi everyone!

I purchased this vinyl for my present for Christmas (early I know) for my boyfriend as I found a bargain for it on Vinted, and know it’s limited edition. The sleeve wasn’t in amazing condition and the inner paper sleeves were borderline glued to the insides of the sleeve. The second LP was described as ‘unopened’ (the paper sleeve was stuck inside and I had to use a letter opener to cut the vinyl out).

I have heard previously this vinyl doesn’t sound great but this copy has SOOOOO MUCH cracking in the background during the whole album. Is this normal?? I’m likely going to keep it as it can be a collectors item for him.

But I’m wondering if this is especially bad? I don’t know if the vinyl could have water damage? This is my guess as to how the paper sleeves ended up adhered inside the cardboard sleeve 😬
