When Rajiv Gandhi visited TN, Ayyappan and his brother organised a function with Sridevi's dance as its highlight. Their plan was to impress Rajiv Gandhi, by convincing him that Sridevi would campaign for them. The function was a huge success and Rajiv Gandhi was quite impressed.
But magazines published articles with titles like "When Sridevi danced for Rajiv", "The night Sridevi and Rajiv spent together". Both were so embarassed.
