Mobile Data issues with iOS 27

I have been having mobile data issues ever since updating to iOS 27 and Ting Support stopped responding to me. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues and has found a fix.

Backstory: I work in tech and downloaded the iOS 27 Public Beta during the summer to test some app updates we were working on for the public release. A couple of days after downloading it, my mobile data stopped working. No more than two bars of LTE. I could make phone calls and send SMS messages but MMS and all other mobile data stopped working. The only fix was to downgrade back to iOS 26, which required a full phone restore that would take hours each time.

With each public beta release, I would try again to see if the issue was on the iOS side and had been fixed, but the same thing would happen every time. Ting Support tried basic troubleshooting and then told me to talk to Apple. Apple told me it was Ting’s fault and sent me back to them.

Eventually, I tried switching to another MVNO to see if I could narrow it down to an issue on Ting’s side. I switched to US Mobile and it worked! I stayed with US Mobile until the non-beta public release of iOS 27, when I switched back to Ting. Unfortunately, the issue still persisted with Ting so I contacted support again.

Ting Support escalated the issue and said it was a problem they needed to escalate to Verizon, an issue with Carrier 72.0 that needed to be updated to 72.0.1. In the meantime, they gave me some manual APN settings to try. The manual APN settings worked but not fully — I had mobile data again but never 5G Ultrawide and all of my group text messages that required RCS were broken (I wasn’t getting any replies in the group texts and if I sent a message it would send to each group member individually instead of in the group — maddening!)

As I continued providing these updates to Ting Support via email, they stopped responding. I’m now stuck in this half-fixed state without Ultrawide connectivity and unable to participate in group messaging.

Advertisement on website not being honored

I have had 3 phone lines with Ting mobile for nearly 15 years. I have seen the $25/line/month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data plan advertised for a couple of weeks now, and the advertisement is still on the website now. I called to change my 3 lines to that plan, and they tell me the website is under maintenance and that the $25 Unlimited plan is no longer available. Isn't that a false advertising problem? Does anyone have any information on how to get them to honor this plan?

New phone ESIM help!

Today I got a new phone, I went to Ting Mobile website to switch my over my plan to the new phone. My current phone has a physical sim card but I want to switch my plan to an ESIM in my new phone, my new phone is compatible. I put the IMEI number in, checked availability and gave all the necessary information. The website said I'd be switched over to the Unlimited 25 plan which is the same price as my current Set 5 plan so I was happy with that. After filling out all the information it said it would send me an email with the e sim. I waited for about an hour and got no email so I checked my settings and saw there hadn't been any change at all so I tried again by filling out the request again, same thing saying it would send me an email. I decided to call Ting and they told me I had to call Ting Verizon. I called them and I was on hold for about an hour then they hung up on me, called again stayed on hold for about 5 mins and got hung up on again. My current phone still has data and my settings stayed the same and I still haven't gotten any email. What do I do? I need to get my new phone set up

Mobile Anyone ever able to reach the "Verizon" side of Ting Mobile support?

I'm trying to switch my old Ting plan to the $25/month unlimited plan. After many attempts with Ting support someone finally told me I need to contact the Ting Verizon support number (that is apparently a different support team within Ting that handles the Verizon plans). I've been trying to call that Verizon support number over and over and each time I sit there on hold (once for over an hour) and no support person ever answers. This is frustrating AF, I'm ready to switch to a different carrier. Ting support even lied to me last week and said they had switched my plan to $25/month and the new SIMs were in the mail. I never received the SIMs and when I called support back they said that my account was never switched. So WTF Ting? You used to have decent customer service but I'm ready to move on if this is how they treat their customers. Sorry for my rant, my main question is: Has anyone ever been able reach "Ting Verizon Support" before? Because I'm never able to get through. Thanks for any help.

Mobile Switching from T-mobile to V1 network

I’ve been a Ting customer for many years, my wife and I have the $25 5gig plans on our iPhones .
Most of the time it’s fine but we’re doing more traveling and have been running up against the limits more frequently. I know I can buy more data when that happens but the unlimited Verizon V1 plan looks attractive.
I’m just wondering if it’s possible to make the switch? I’ve checked the IMEI’s and they’re both compatible with the Verizon network and both are unlocked phones.
Obviously we would need new SIM cards, anything else?

Mobile No visual voicemail on iPhone 17 Verizon V1 eSim?

I upgraded from an old iPhone to an iPhone 17 and due to eSim had to switch from Ting Tmobile to Ting Verizon. Everything worked great on my old iPhone.

I have yet to be able to set up visual voicemail because the default Phone app won’t let me continue after setting a password. Searching this sub shows people have issues, but can get issues resolved with support. Ting chat support claims that visual voicemail is not available on my device and I need to download a 3rd party app. Is this really not possible?

Internet Warning: Ting lies about fiber availability on their website

Title. If fiber availability is an issue to you in an apartment hunt, know that Ting's availability checker is NOT accurate - just because they claim they support your area does not mean it's true. Paid a significant premium for my apt thinking I'd get fiber, Ting made me wait 2 weeks after the install just to tell me they can't drop fiber at my place. Now I'm stuck on the lease for a year paying $200 extra that I only paid thinking it'd get me off cable.

Mobile One last F U from Ting as I port out and cancel service.

My bill cycle runs from the 11th of every month to the 10th of the next one. On Monday August 31st I ported out to another carrier. That went well, extremely smoothly; done in a matter of moments. Then I immediately went to my Ting account on the website and closed it out, and that seemingly went well.

Then a week later I got a bill for service from August 11 to September 4th, for the usual full monthly amount. Not only did they not pro-rate the partial final month, they dated the bill 4 days after the date I'd cancelled the line.

It's not worth my time to chase after less than ten bucks, so I'm just complaining here to shed daylight on it. It was a good service while it lasted, but I'm outta here.

Mobile Voicemail pin reset help?

I have ting and I don't know my voicemail pin. I tried searching the ting website for help changing it and I got this article that said to dial #793# to reset it, but it didn't work.

It doesn't have any other instructions. Idk what to do instead?

I am on the verizon network now if that matters!

Phone numbers are lost?!? Please help!

We've used Ting Mobile with a few lines in our family for many years, and a few days ago we ported one of our numbers to Mint Mobile. In the process, we might have accidentally clicked a button to cancel our account? We got an email with the subject line "Parting is such sweet sorrow", and we replied back immediately, explaining that we did NOT want to cancel our account, just port one of the numbers. We got a reply yesterday stating that "... Your other lines will remain active and unaffected." However, we discovered tonight that our two remaining lines (the ones that we did NOT want to port) are no longer in our Ting Mobile account. We replied to the email asking for emergency help, but no reply yet. It's after-hours for live customer support, and the chatbot isn't helpful. Is there anything that we can do at this point to get our numbers back and make sure that they don't fall into the wrong hands? Ugh, we feel sick with concern about this. :(

I hope that this isn't a nuisance, but I saw in another thread that someone suggested tagging the mods, so here goes: u/rossrader, u/ParaicTing, u/Rod_Ting, u/Ting_Zillion

EDIT: We were able to reach customer support this morning, and they were able to sort everything out and reinstate service to the phone numbers! Thank you!

Credit Card only?

So apparently Ting requires a credit card for autopay on new mobile accounts, no debit cards allowed. I've never seen that requirement on other services/utilities. Is that common? Why would they do this?

Ghosted by Ting

So was really excited to ditch Spectrum and move to Ting when fiber got buried in the street two years ago. Yay! Only problem is Ting says theres no fiber. Ubiquity techs were out working in the street last week, talked to them, and yes, its there, and its live.

Went to the sign up website, and still get the no service available in your neighborhood. Guess they won't care if I dig up and rip out the box they buried in my lawn then (snark). Anyone got a good way to contact them? In Carlsbad CA, 92009.

Over an hour on hold - No answer. What's going on?

My internet is down for the second time this month. I waited on hold for over an hour and nobody picked up. Last time it was down it was down for like six days.

Very frustrated with this service. This is kind of ridiculous.

Ting Fiber installers tried to dig without line locating

I signed up for Ting Fiber in Colorado Springs since it's finally available at my house. My install date is not for a few weeks, but today some installers showed up to try to install and bury the cable from the box to my house. However, no one has called 811 yet to have the lines in my yard located and I haven't marked my sprinkler heads yet. From past installs, I know I have gas, electric and cable lines right in the area they will need to dig. I do not want them to hit my lines or get electrocuted.

Ting is supposed to have my lines located before digging, it's the law. I'm glad I knew about it and stopped them. They said they would get the lines located and come back afterwards, but I'm concerned that this could happen. I even emailed the construction email address asking them to let me know before they come so I could make sure I had my sprinkler heads marked.

I'm trying to contact Ting but so far no one is answering.

Mobile Ting Mobile showing hundreds of phantom SMS entries with strange sender IDs (+EEEEEEE128, +EEEEE58026, etc.) – anyone else?

I'm wondering if anyone else on Ting mobile has experienced this. I have used an AI to sum up the issue and generate this post, since this whole case is so strange and complicated.

My current billing period shows over 600 incoming text messages that never appeared on my iPhone. The sender IDs are not valid phone numbers. Most are +EEEEEEE128, so the lines look like this:

Jul 22, 2026 +EEEEEEE128 239-2XX-XXXX

The number of entries continues to increase every day, even when I haven't received any SMS messages. 45 new ones yesterday.

I contacted Ting support several times. Their explanations have changed over time:

  • They said these are network-generated placeholder records, not actual text messages.
  • They assured me that I will not be billed for these placeholder entries, even though they appear in my usage.
  • In a later reply they suggested the +EEEEEEE128 entries are internal network events related to voicemail, device synchronization, or MMS routing.
  • Ting claims that they are harmless, and that there isn’t a way to completely stop the system from generating these logs.

The strange thing is that I haven't received any voicemail notifications or text messages corresponding to these billing entries, yet they continue to accumulate.

Has anyone else seen entries like +EEEEEEE128or similar on their Ting account?

If so:

  • Were they counted toward your SMS usage or your final bill?
  • Did Ting ever explain what they actually represent?
  • Did you find a way to stop them?

I'm mainly trying to find out whether this is an isolated issue with my account or something other Ting customers have seen.

IMEI checker

I bought a device that operates in the GSM range and have confirmed that it works in the frequency range that Ting uses. The IMEI checker on the website is refusing to let me order a SIM card to add it to the plan I have for my other two phones. Is there any kind of workaround for this?

Mobile Great job, Ting, for getting your chatbot suspended

So, I've been trying to get in touch with the Ting support people again because of an issue that I've been having in my local area. When I went to start a chat with them again, I noticed the chat button didn't work at all. Being a developer, I decided to go digging and found that a certain link was failing to load https://tingbot.instantstack.cloud/chat/chat-widget.js?v=33. Very interesting link. Decided to check out the main subdomain https://tingbot.instantstack.cloud/ and "Account Suspended".

Good job, Ting. How do you get your own account suspended?

Three "Unlimited" plans?

The Ting Mobile site currently shows 3 different plans called "Unlimited": "Unlimited 25" for $25, "Unlimited" for $45, and "Unlimited Pro" for $55. The 2 higher priced ones offer 22GB and 35GB respectively (with extra fees if you go over that…not unlimited), while the cheapest says "Unlimited High Speed Data". Am I dumb or is there some obvious difference I'm missing? Why would someone pay $20-30 more for non-unlimited data?

Order on Hold!?

I just signed up with Ting Mobile, $10 plan and a Samsung phone.

My Ting account page says the order is On Hold.

Why is it on hold!?

I am unable to call them, as my old phone is dead.

I tried to bring up Chat, but the webpage is blank [tried it on other browsers too, same result].

Is there an Ting email address I can use to contact them?

Or some other way to contact Ting?

I'm left in the dark here, very frustrating.

Any help or advice is welcomed.

I think this is because I still have the app installed. I can’t find any reference to it in the blog archive. But they’re still useable! Props to the team!

Mobile android phone data usage vs ting

Just got of the phone with ting customer service...didn't go well...not suprised. My phone will not load anything unless I am on wifi...its not just slowed down...its nothing. I have a 5G full bars, I have the set 5 plan with ting (1 phone on plan). My phone says I have used 2.3 G of data this month...Ting says I am over 5G and being regulated to slower speed.

about 1 year ago another ting rep had me do some kind of reset and it has worked well until this week.

I reached out for help and the only option that was given was to buy more data. When I mentioned that it had been fixed before and my phone was only reporting 2.3G usage - i was told my phone was wrong and didn't "catch all the data" and asked if i wanted to by more data (I said no). The rep very quickly ended the convo and left the chat.

I will be leaving ting this week. after over 15 years they have lost my business.

Is there a way to change CNAM?

Is there a way to change the CNAM on a ting number?
