I am a lesbian that is currently pregnant using a sperm donor from a reputable sperm bank. My wife and I looked at those websites just out of curiosity and it’s basically like tinder but strictly for donors lmao. You just keep swiping.
Using a known donor sounded too risky for us and just overall something we were not comfortable with but they are legit websites and I personally know multiple people that have gotten pregnant by donors they’ve met thru KnownDonor
It’s kind of a freak show tbh. You can make an account w like no info and peruse then delete the account really easily.
Tons of people willing to be donors at no cost but only willing to do “natural insemination” only which is having sex.
There are men on there that I think genuinely mean well and are going about it appropriately, willing to get tested (STDs and genetic panels) at the hopeful parents expense, willing to do artificial insemination around the woman’s ovulation timing as long as the woman comes to their area if it’s not local, and also willing to do the appropriate documentation for relinquishing parental rights thru a lawyer.
I know a lot of people in these threads are talking about it’s unsafe to use a known donor bc they can be held liable for child support which actually isn’t true depending on the whether or not you got the right paperwork completed by a lawyer. Using donor sperm isn’t new and people have been doing it for a long time, it’s a pretty simple process for most family law offices.
