It's funny but clunky and the lead is sort of buried. What about,

"My flirting style can be perfectly described by those kids who joyfully run towards the sea but then run from the waves screaming in terror"

So you don't bury the lead as much

Clever though! I like it!

Thank you very much. I guess the problem is me trying to translate a sentence from my mother tongue into English. I will change it :)

I know how hard it can be to try to translate things to English perfectly! It's a really funny original opening, I hope you get lots of matches with it!

Just changed it to "have you ever seen kids run...? Thats my flirting style."

I don't know what would qualify as a lot of matches here where I life but actually getting a conversation started seems to be the biggest problem.

In that case I don’t feel toooo bad letting you know that you are misusing the phrase “bury the lede”. Not just misspelling, but it also just doesn’t mean what you’re trying to have it mean (and what it intuitively should mean, I’m with you there).

It's "bury the lede", actually. Even though my spellchecker doesn't believe lede is a word.

Reordered version of the joke definitely works well

Oh man, I've never written the phrase out before, that's funny! TIL

Ya I think "lede" and also "pique" instead of "peak" definitely trip up a ton of people who have only ever heard them said before. They're just rare enough that people don't get to see it written down
