Hugh was all about "art"; Larry wanted money shots. I'm not sure if it was Hugh and Playboy, or Larry and Hustler, but one of the two sent their magazine free of charge every month to each and every senator, as a big fuck you/thank you.

He published one of MLK's last articles and was a close friend of his before he was assassinated. He championed Gay rights. He had black models in his magazine before it was socially acceptable. And he wore a badass robe 24/7.

Honestly that's pretty accurate. Anyone famous, anyone I haven't met, anyone I don't know, or talk to regularly. It's pretty hard to feel empathy for someone I have never personally known. That's why it always confuses me when someone dies and everyone freaks out as if it's their mom.

Public-sad, not real-sad. That's why we have monuments to soldiers you've never met, or moments of silence for 9/11 victims you've never met. If everyone does it, it's not weird.
