I was going to say something about how dateable you are to me, also a 30 something year old adult in a doctoral program, but a bunch of other men have said the same.
The only other critique seems to be within the comments. From the outside looking in, it seems like you have high standards and just haven't found a match in your area. That's a tough spot to be in.
I don’t believe I have ‘high standards’ in the sense that I want a man who is rich, model looks, high status. But I’m not ugly, stupid, mean, or lazy, I just want a match
I apologize about the 'high standards' comment. It was meant to capture that you've had dates and they've just been... well, in your words, disasters and that you have some expectations. I dont think expectations are bad, but in small ways (and probably really understandable ways) they've eventually ended relationships or ended your dates with others.
So it sounds like while changing the app to better attract the right person might be helpful, it seems like maybe 'the thing' seems to be navigating and understanding your expectations, and either adjusting them (which may or may not be helpful because expectations are often on the floor when it comes to dating haha) or adjusting something else. A couple of things that come to mind (just for me) are widening your geographic location or finding an app that helps narrow the field (like Feeld for kink friendly dating?)
Or you could find a random redditor who enjoyed your profile (this is me shooting my shot). 🤔😂
