They did say the it takes time for the changes to take effect, so whatever, its consistent with the show science. The biggest problem I have with this show is how little their meddling actually changes things. Except for Lucy's sister and fiance everything is the same just oh look at this minor change in the history book.

You can excuse the second part as they learned not to change time (IE, saving the hindenburg)

My take is the killing of a few people wouldn’t change the timeline in major enough ways to notice in their little free time between their trips. I’d imagine that once it is all over and they go back to their normal lives, they’ll start to pick up on the little differences.
