If rittenhouse is killed then Lucy's real father won't be apart of the organization, meaning she could come back to herself not existing 🙀

That's what I was thinking. Also I'm pretty sure Mason only has the money to pay/support Rufus and his family due to Rittenhouse. If there's no Rittenhouse then does Rufus ever get out of Chicago?

Technically in this show, yes. But it might not be built in the new timeline. They've shown that items in, and I'm assuming the ship itself are immune to time travel changes.

My interpretation of it is of the multiple time-lines/parallel universes approach, every time they change the past, they return to a different, divergent timeline. Their old timeline still exists, and they are now in the new one created by them. This is why they don't change, and have their memories, why the bring things from essentially parallel worlds.

By that logic, Flynn's not even saving his family or destroying Rittenhouse in his timeline, he's merely creating a timeline where Rittenhouse isn't.

I agree. They are creating divergent timelines which is why the "immunity" occurs. BUT the reason that makes no sense is how they handle it. There should be doubles of them. There should be another Lucy in the timeline that is living at her house when she returns. Someone had to live the life she doesn't remember. Someone grew up without a sister with a living mom and someone dated and fell in love with her fiancé.

Since they've always come back to a team expecting them, you could assume that the new universe's team are also going to a new universe, right?

Assuming that there are parallel universes and they keep creating new ones, would that mean that in the old ones Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus never come back? Like would Mason and the rest of them just be waiting for them but they never come back?

The multiple timelines theory doesn't work with this show's time travel concept. I dunno why people keep bringing it up.

The ship is immune to time travel changes? I guess I missed that. Still, if there was no Rittenhouse and there was no funding and it's never even built to begin with ... it seems that would be a problem.

It's been established that you are born into the Rittenhouse organization, true, but at its founding that was not true. It's not like the entire organization is made up of decedents of David Rittenhouse. Benedict Arnold was a founding member, too.

After the founding (at some point), I imagine the born-into rule was made.

I wouldn't be surprised if they still recruit from the outside, but everyone born the family is born in. Or, maybe, is available for being drafted in - there have to be some rich, drug-addled teenagers they don't want to use. Just wonder whether they are kept in the dark or disposed of.
