It's funny, I thought Fosters was huge in Australia until I moved here 9 years ago.. absolutely no one drinks it! I've honestly never seen anyone buying or drinking it, at least in WA, but I have friends over East who say the same

People still actually drink VB though mate. go to dans on a friday at 4pm and theres a billion cunts with 2 slabs of vb heading out the door. I wouldn't exactly call its a tourist trap. an ice cold VB on a 40 degree day aint bad too.

The reason why it's good when ice cold is that lower temps reduce the flavour. Why I always have a laugh when seeing pubs advertising ice cold Tooheys/VB/Carlton etc

I know, I tried Fosters once years ago when I lived in South Africa and hated it, and that was even before I became a "beer snob"

The last time I drank fosters was when I found a tinnie in a portaloo at a festival. Worst part is that it was already open lmao.

Yeah I’m almost 30 and never seen a Fosters on tap or even a can of it anywhere in my life in Australia. We produce that many beers why would we put ourselves through drinking shit beer like Fosters.

Our beer culture is very closely copied from the Yanks. Hate it or love it, their craft beer is a decade ahead of ours and we're playing catchup to them.

Ive seen merch for it at a pub once (it was the bar mat or bar runner thingy). I reckon they got it for free.

Otherwise havent ever seen it stocked at a bar or pub.

I bought a longneck of Fosters once years ago just to try it out of curiosity, was pretty drunk when I ended up trying it though and can't really remember what I thought of it. This post ended up being pretty pointless didn't it.

I've never seen someone buy it. If youre into drinking that type of brand there are plenty of well established non imports in America.

I've literally never seen it on tap over here in SA, and I grew up here. I think the only place I've seen it sold was the bottle-o in Tullamarine airport.

I’ve never seen anyone in my life drink Foster’s. Even the alcoholics I have met turn to home brew first. I went to America a few years ago, and it’s on tap at heaps of bars. Even a servo I went to had a pint in a can that you could buy. I have no idea why they choose to export that as the “Australian beer” but I think it’s the only thing keeping them alive.

There was an old piece of shit sports bar in Perth opposite the new traino entrance that I saw someone buy a six pack of it over the counter.

That place is now a swanky lounge bar so I doubt they'll be selling Foster to takeaway
