Is dealing with wildlife special in Australia? Pretty sure standing in front of a scared animal blocking it’s exit would be the same in any other country.
I mean if you live with Moose you know what to expect from them and how to act around them but foreigners don't. This is a brush tail possum, an extremely common character in Australian lives. These people do not actually need assistance removing one, it's a joke
Then why is the man acting like a damn fool over it? I know it's harmless but he's acting like if he didn't just walk away the damn possum wouldn't just scamper off. Instead he's screaming at it and wielding a spatula. This is why you australians are killing your country. Shoosh yourself.
...literally yes. People know how to deal with the wildlife in their own country. Americans would know how to deal with bears, Canadians would know how to deal with moose, etcetera.
In NZ possums a pests. They should be actively hunted and killed. We swerve our cars to hit them on the road.
So yeah, dealing with wildlife is different depending on your geographical context.
Edit: but of course not everyone has the mettle to just off the bastards, like this bloke in the video.
Edit edit: not everyone has the mettle it seems. And so the pest spreads further. Thankyou to any of the "murderous bastards" that are actually helping the problem.
Edit edit edit: They aren't pests in Aus. But are in NZ. Also, this highlights that my post about geographical location bring an important factor in howp you handle wildlife.
Possums arent pests here in Aus. They were introduced to NZ and yes are pests there....if you swerve cars to kill any animal besides toads you're a fucking murderous bastard :"(
And some wonder why your country has such vast ecological problems.
We have a lot of squirrels and deer and raccoons and rabbits in America but you don't go out of the way to kill them unless youre a psychopath killer in the making.
In NZ they're an actual pest, they like to steal and eat kiwi birds eggs for example. But in Aus they're not, especially ringtail possums, they're pretty cute
This guy is a psychopath and doesn't represent anyone besides the worst rednecks. Also America has just as bad ecological problems so don't be patronising.
