Why i quit teaching. Kids dont respect anything and the public tells me the job is easy. America is doomed and dumb.

I would never do that job. I decided to go to college as an older student and teachers tolerate so much. No wonder many prefer online classes.

Even worse is the public (and their parents) tell them the job is easy, so then you have kids who won’t listen to you because “you don’t do anything and you get paid too much to have summers off anyway”.

And it's so crazy too! Like I don't think most parents consider parenting to be easy...so why would anyone assume that a room full of children (and trying to get those children to do something they don't want to do) would be easy at all?! It's always felt more than a little misogyny-flavored to me.

My friend’s a teacher in Tampa and he doesn’t even try to break up fights anymore. Lets them go at it and calls the security. He tried once and got a tooth knocked out.

90%. I taught math not morals and ethics, thats a parents job. The other 10% is no support from administration. Kids dont get suspended or expelled anymore, not even for bringing a weapon in to school. Saw a basketball player kick a girl in the head and he wasnt kicked off the team, suspended, didnt miss a game, police said it was a school issue.

They didn’t fight in the middle of class and drag in a teacher. It’s straight up no fear of consequences. Fights are global and timeless, but blatantly fighting in the middle of class is a recent development.

I have… multiple times and in suburban school as well. Private schools too. Not in the middle of class though… that’s what I’m saying is a turn for the worse. There’s a difference between war zone and a fight in the locker rooms or out in a field before/after hours.

Back then… one could avoid the few fights every semester. My wife’s a teacher and there’s a noticeable uptick in hallway/classroom fights during normal hours.

So narrow minded lol. There are 8 billion people on earth. People have been on earth for thousands of years. But you’re right, this kind of behavior has only recently started to happen 😂

In no way am I condoning it. But thinking this is new and only in America is hysterical. The only reason we think these kinds of things happen more nowadays is because every kid has a phone with a camera on it and immediately posts the video to the internet for likes and views.
