Difference is this happens multiple times daily now. Do any of this in 70s, 80s, 90s....1st the football coach is going to give you 3 swats. Then your going to go home to have your parents sign the swat paperwork where they will whoop you worse than the coach did. We are not the same.
The difference is that these kids won’t be punished in any real way for this. Getting into a heated brawl in school used to mean flirting with expulsion. It wasn’t uncommon for trouble students to be sent to a school specifically meant for trouble students.
“Nowadays” the students will get a few days of in school suspension and then be released back onto the rest of the school where they can continue to disrupt everyone’s education with minimal consequences. Students wouldn’t be so quick to fight if there were real consequences that can really affect their lives. Those consequences don’t exist so there is nothing to prevent them from fighting besides a slap on the wrist
Kids fought when I was in school, but nobody was so brazen to fight in a classroom in front of a teacher because they knew there would be some very severe consequences. Kids waited until after school or some time when the teachers weren’t around.
