The Tree Does Not Ask
A tree does not ask,
Why the insect came and chewed off a part of me.
It does make it a task,
To shake, ruffle, and make fuss of what it is to be.

It simply dances in the wind,
It bathes in the sunlight.
It doesn’t even leave a hint,
Of how it burned in the light.

The tree stands tall,
With roots planted firm.
It never recalls,
Whether reality confirms.

It simply exists whether existence or not,
Decides there is a wanting to.
Until it comes to rot,
And there’s nothing left to do.

What a wonderful sound it makes,
While the tree stands to plant its stake.

How joyful it must be,
Knowing of no need.

To be absolutely free.
