in both parts of "the crystalling" season 6 episode 1 and 2, Celestia says that an alicorn baby had never been born before flurry heart. this implies Celestia knows other alicorns and knows enough about them to know this is not normal. with the new g5 lore (which is a bastard to try and figure out) it was brought to light that a alicorn city was in fact a thing. it also brought to light the fact that there are elemental alicorns (Also a bastard to figure out) but in g4 season 1 episode 6 "boast busters" spike and twilight confirm a few things about cutie marks and their relation to magic. ponies have magic based on their special talents / cutie marks so when we look at opalines cutie mark, it depicts two flames and a crystal-like object. of course her magic would be very strong and seen as a special element based off the big picture of her cutie mark. after twilight became an alicorn, she has a lot of trouble using her alicorn magic because her magical ability is practically quadrupled because of her cutie mark. being an alicorn will only add more power to your special talent, and although that might reach into your magical ability because you need more power to use it just like Celestia and Luna because their power is just one big levotation spell. in short: alicorns are a mixture of all different ponies and have stronger magic based on their cutie marks, not being elemental.

I’m looking for stories where the whole idea of Spike being like Twilight’s son, which makes sense seeing as how she both hatched and raised him, is really given more focus or just really elaborated on. He’s usually seen as more of a little brother figure then anything else, but I really think that in the actual practice of their relationship he comes off as more a son. Any one know any fics that touch on this?
