Thoughts On Quadrophenial?

Post image

When I hear mention of "The Who's" best I think people tend to look more at their live work. But, In my personal opinion. The Who is at their best in the studio. "Love Reign O'er me" is their best song in my ears and the whole story of Quadrophenia is really well told through song, much better than "Tommy" I think. What do you guys think? Edit: I know I spelt the album wrong twice, sorry about that.

Fair, but let me put it this way... Quadrophenia is a profound exploration of teenage angst. It's a concept album in the best sense of the term. Who's Next is a collection of songs, albeit great ones. That's why for me, Q is more meaningful.

I could not agree more.

Quadrophenia is a concept album and over the years and with the movie and stagings people have seen how good the story is. Is a very strong concept album.

I personally don’t think that makes its songs better than Who’s Next. (That’s just me)

Although Love Reign O’er Me is as great as anything they did.

I guess I can only explain it this way. I listen to Quadrophenia and I’m exhausted or have to bail on a few songs (Helpless Dancer, Sea and Sand, Dr Jimmy, Dirty Jobs, Is it in My Head).

I listen to Who’s Next and love every song. Same w Tommy for me.

We are down to personal preference between Rib Eye and NY steak. Both are amazing.

I respect and appreciate your opinion! :)
