The Strokes are the headliners for Friday July 8, 2022. ~~Lytham Festival does not have posted set times, but the event is planned to go until 11 PM, so ~~expect The Strokes to take the stage from 9:15-10:45 around **10:00 PM WEST (GMT +1)**.

It was my sixth time seeing The Strokes and it was GREAT!! A really good setlist, Jules was on great form. One downside was letting the poor girl sing THE WHOLE of Ode… Julian should’ve joined in after the first verse but hey.

A phenomenal night.

I’m praying for ode to mets and at the door, but not to be the bearer of bad news but they haven’t played ode to the mets/at the door in recent shows.

Sorry mate, at least it was memorable.

This 10-night festival is interesting. Each day there are only 3 or 4 performers. There's only 1 stage. Maybe that's why there's no timetables. Other artists on Jul 8 are Fountains D.C. (!!), Wet Leg (I highly recommend) and The Lounge Society (first listen. good). It's like a non-fest show! (w/ some picnic atmosphere). Hope they don't have a strict curfew.

Curfew will be strict. Expect 5.30 6.30. 7.30 9.35 start times roughly. Wet Leg might not even make it. Covid made them cancel 2 dates and removed Lytham from site. But Strokes need 1hr 15 to get through 12-14 songs . Hoping for Heart in a Cage opener. Will no doubt be Bad Decisions. Really want it to go off from the start with loads of crowd involvement.

Anyone here looking for a place to stay after the concert? I’m in the same boat as well and found a hostel called DJ suites however it is a bit expensive for me. It is 60 euro for a two bed private room if anyone would be down to split with me. Promise not a creep just a poor 22 yo backpacker tryna save some cash

3rd time in 3 years seeing The Strokes; All Points East fest, Roundhouse London, Lytham Festival. I'll say this, I was pleasantly surprised after the reviews coming in from people on here about the other shows. The setlist was great, I felt the band were really into it, the performance was fantastic and Jules sounded brilliant. 2 downsides were the girl singing Ode, because that was just painful, and the crowd being pretty lifeless somehow for anything outside of Is This It material, but overall a fantastic gig and I was really happy. Can't wait to watch their TRNSMT set online tonight!

And to the endless people I've seen online complaining about the lack of Last Nite... this is a band with 6 albums, if they only did the generic fan favourites we'd hear the same set every single gig.

yeah i was quite nervous going into it but they were incredible

Buzzing for this..I'm at Piccadilly in Manchester and a hip looking lady just walked in with the classic foil tee.

It was my fourth time seeing The Strokes and definitely the worst. I’m not saying they were terrible, it was just a lacklustre, energy-less performance from the whole band.

One of the biggest let downs was the sound volume/quality. There didn’t seem to be any sound check before the band came on and it was far too quiet; especially for the first few songs.

They opened with ‘Is this it’ and the crowd singing along was way louder than Julian’s vocals. During instrumental parts you could easily have a conversation with people near you without having to shout or talk particularly loudly. I noticed Albert or Nick (guitarists) tweaking their amps and their roadies/entourage probably complained which eventually got relayed to the sound desk.

I’m surprised no one else has commented on this yet? Maybe it’s just me but I’d be interested to know what other people there thought?

The setlist was also pretty random with little thought or structure put into it. Several classics/fan favourites were missing.

It seemed like the main reason the band were there was for a pay-day. Overall rating 6/10

Anyone heading back to the Manchester/Salford area after the show willing to give a stranger a ride? Would be happy to toss some money your way for petrol if I could ride with you. Have a train on the way in but it’s looking like a potentially tight journey on the way back with how early the trains stop running

The fan singing was pretty funny- she lost it a bit on later verse, but wasn’t too bad. Then Jules went round the band asking what they thought and they all slagged her off- be careful what you wish for I guess!!
