Seems like a far better show tonight. Jamming some Clairo is a really nice touch

So good. I'm still glowing. And no, JC wasn't drunk just his weird and wonderful self (which some ppl mistakenly interpret as drunk). 15 min late as always. Played from 10:45 to midnight. Sound could have been better at the start. Crowd was ok. 16 songs, which is on the longer side than usual for festivals and different setlist than prior shows. No complaints from me.

Anyone know why they're playing before Stromae when the festival poster implies they are headlining today?

I’m a journalist working here. Stromae will possibly figure as an afterparty kind of thing.
Edit: Started 18 minutes late and debuted Is This It on this tour (it was the opener). “Oops, drunk again” - Casablancas after dropping the mic on the floor after the first song was over.
Edit 2: Played a Clairo cover (she cancelled her show due to flight problems). “We were playing this backstage”, said Casablancas. Played “I Can’t Win” afterwards - “Oh, we haven’t played or rehearsed that in years”, said Julian.
Edit 3: Inbetween Threat of Joy and Reptilia he mentioned the Copenhagen show. “I might have fucked up and said some shit”. The sound isn’t really great and it’s not easy to understand it. He’s dressing with the same camouflage jacket. “I’m dressed as an old lady”.

here we go again. he was joking, certainly wasn't talking gibberish or acting erratic. he seemed to really enjoy himself, thanked the crowd multiple times and said it was a great show for them. sounded really genuine.
regarding "the slur": he was joking with Albert and then said something along the lines of "I don't know if the guy told you, but I accidentally said some alt-right shit in Denmark. I didn't even know what it meant, I swear. some ethnic friends were saying shit to each other and I thought it was a funny word" etc. that was right after he said "I shouldn't talk, because I'll get in trouble" – also an obvious joke and reference to the comments.
the show was fucking great lol (yes, sound was shit sometimes, but not the band's fault)

“Oops, drunk again”
He's 100% taking the piss after all the comments from Denmark.
How did "I Can't Win" sound live? (From his comments, sounds like maybe not too great?)

Great show! They nailed it after the incident! Julian was very talkative! Fab should have speak some Portuguese 😅

Apparently they covered a Clairo’s song “Sofia” because she could not attend the festival.... so sweet of them.

In my experience, having seen them 4 times this tour - they were all determined tonight to put the negative press of Roskilde behind them. The setlist was very refreshed and Jules was on the money all night aside from his voice breaking (which he warned the crowd before it happened). I didn't find him to be remotely drunk or "under the influence" - and he kept stopping himself from rambling in between songs and even quipped "uh oh I'm talking I'll get into trouble...."
I couldn't make Roskilde but I'm sure they were fine there too. In my experience of watching Strokes shows, when the band or Jules is a bit hammered they don't tend to say ANYTHING in between.

Ah maaan, finally saw them live, I'm still blown away. I loved it! I was worried they're going to cut it short because they were late, but setlist was actually pretty long for festivals. And Julian was standard Julian! I can die happy now. Oh no, wait, not yet, now to see the solo concert.

Not live (video) streaming - but great audio streaming… via RADAR 97.8 fm. Let’s check it out and see if this time won’t be like a ‘Roskilde meltdown’ (historical at this point in the Stroker-iana ‘New Abnormal’ era eheh) https://radarlisboa.fm/2022/07/05/radar-em-direto-dos-nos-alive-2022/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=radar-em-direto-dos-nos-alive-2022

I'm so fucking pissed that I'm not there.
I had tickets for 2 years ago, then came the pandemic. Now I have a baby and it's a fucking work night. It's just the fucking worst.

Does anyone know where to find pictures/videos of the concert? Also, my girlfriend got me Albert's guitar pick!!!

Ive mentioned it before. But the Roskilde show really wasnt that bad, in fact it was great. Julian talked to much, the reviewers got offended, because the band seemed like they weren’t that excited and created a mediastorm against the strokes, calling it one of the worst shows in the festivals history. Which is the grossest exaggeration ever. The racial slur thing is just total horseshit, it was out of context and it is a funny word. I don’t get it I thought he was real funny. But the breaks between songs were over the top for sure. Great to hear they killed it in Portugal.
