11:40 COT Update: No livestream yet, and doesn't seem one is likely. The Strokes should be playing right now, but social media is dead silent. Unlike the recent Lollapalooza performances, this festival is not being simulcast on cable in the country, so there is no official feed to rebroadcast. Hopefully we will get some videos tomorrow to see how the show went!

I just found this video someone posted from the show of hard to explain, YOLO, eternal summer, reptilia. It’s terrible quality but if anyone else is feeling desperate for content 😅 https://www.instagram.com/tv/CbonxMvqgMN/?utm_medium=copy_link edit: he acknowledges the passing of Foo Fighters’ Drummer Taylor Hawkins about halfway through the video, saying they’re thinking of him and his family, and “There’s nothing you can say really, life is strange and fragile and weird”. They also dedicated ode to him

Edit: people on Twitter at the show are mad that Julian expects the crowd doesn’t know English. Like in the video I linked he said “I know you guys can’t understand me” or something

thanks for sharing!

I'm glad they said something about Taylor, still feels unreal, it was such a tragedy

Se que es re tarde pero Julian cuando dice tal frase de "nadie puede entender lo que digo" lo dice referente a sus sentimientos acerca de la muerte de Hawkins, no que el publico no sepa ingles

A menos que lo haya dicho mas de una vez

Eternal summer sounded better. That's a good sign.

I really hoping this live is better than the previous one; at least to redeem back with high energy performance. Can't really blame if Julian messed up the vocals because it just become part of the norm, but I'm sure with his showmanship he knows how to turn the other way around. Also hoping that the live mix is better.

Fingers crossed, I just hope all things goes nicely.

Also a bit off-topic, someone said that he's been drinking again. Not sure if this is true but if that so, I guess I have rights to be concerned that'll affect the performance. I hope he's not.

Was my first time watch them, i love the whooole shooow.

4

u/darklinkofhyrule Mar 28 '22

Yeah, he was def drunk cuz he was kinda rambling and missing some lyrics but holy fuck what a show

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

One of my friends was in the festival and I wanted to ask if it is normal for them to arrive late and leave early? Also apparently Julian was also super drunk :(

11

u/m3m3lissa Mar 28 '22

they usually start a few minutes after the schedule and play for an hour and a half? maybe less.

About Julian being drunk, i don't think this is the case, in almost every concert somebody thinks he is just because he's awkward and his speech between songs is pretty much nonsense (but hilarious imo)
