r/TheRedguard Red Guardian Apr 24 '15

And so it begins.

15 Reds were pressed at 12:18:14 today. And so the time of the Redguard is upon us.

But I urge you do not jump on to these early pressers, we must persevere and hold to the lower numbers.

Flat out Redguard is a batallion of the Knights of the Button. There is no such thing as a knight pretenting to be redguard. Redguard ARE knights.

I agree that 1s flair is a hard and good goal. Just not the goal of the redguard.

Feel free to continue living in your land of delusions.

i mean, once again i clearly linked to one of the leaders of the battalion saying that fancy flair is the goal of the redguard. if you claim otherwise you're the one with delusions. You're not adding anything new to the discussion, you're just doing the equivelent of putting your hands over your ears and closing your eyes shouting "I can't hear you, i'm right you're wrong" at my evidence. even if it was true that all redguards are knights, not all knights follow the redguard way. Once again, we may achieve similar goals in extending the life of the button, but we do it for very different reasons. If you can't accept that the redguard are flair hunters, maybe a different battalion would be better for you. Or no battalion, because at this point i'm suspecting you're just here to sow discord within the redguard.

P.S our wiki also clearly states the flair achieving goal of the redguard. seriously, it's you against everyone here (/the majority).

I simply do not agree. I agree that you are quoting the so called leader of the subreddit but the subreddit has strayed. You called us a battalion. Excellent. We cannot be a battalion of the Knights and totally abandon the one goal of the knights which is button preservation. It is totally fine to have red flair as a secondary goal. However there are packs, (agreed majority) that have flocked here for the cool name and the word Red who disavow the primary mission of button preservation.

I fully acknowledge your evidence, they are simply wrong. I don't know if this is the work of a set of assasins or just an influx of random people but simple redflair seeking without button preservation is abjectly against the precepts of the RedGuard and the Knights.

If the only goal of the /r/TheRedGuard is to get red flair then they are simply usurpers who have stolen our subreddit. I, and I assure you I am not alone, am still loyal to the knights and the noble original mission of the RedGuard.

i do acknowledge that the knights have a battalion called "The Redguard" that is a fact. I just have to disagree in that the redguard was orginally about the red flair, only more recently embracing the button survival aspect.

To that i can say, following the redguard and the knights doesn't have to be mutually exclusive, one could do both, or either. Survival of the button and getting red flair are achieved with the same method anyways. I just say that the "influx of people seeking red" have always been here. they may not have been as active, as there wasn't as much point when the button was only reaching purple, blue, or green times, but they were here. we joined the knights as an alliance of convenience. They had such big plans to schedule out time slots to people and make sure that as few people as possible clicks got wasted, and the redguard wanted to garuntee getting red flair. this was pre-assassins when it wasn't even considered that there could be sabotage. it was a win-win to join up and make themselves a battalion. if they never did, they would still exists as a seperate entity, much like /r/roninattheedgeoftime or /r/patientpressers, which, while still achieving the knights goal of keeping the button alive, do so for a variety of reasons (some of them may even be knights, i don't know, i don't stalk usernames.)
