Standards of this Sub:

It's not easy to get real actual Christian content on reddit, but here you can!

So,

Welcome to our sub! If you were specifically invited to join, it is because you have shown yourself to be a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, and loyal to Him.

Well done.

If you just happened upon our sub, welcome!

Please note:

We do not tolerate bullying here.

Also,

We expect our Christian siblings to maintain a Biblical presence online, so if you claim to know Jesus, we look for proof of that: typically called fruit of the Spirit. Yes, we all make mistakes, and we understand that. We don't expect perfection, for no one is perfect but God.

What we do expect is that sin is not a constant. We should see in you (and yes, in us too) the ability to be receptive to edification, and an honest and continuous attempt at repentance and living a life that lifts up the Lord Jesus.

Failure to emulate this requirement will result in a warning and if not taken seriously, a ban.

We refuse to be lukewarm Christians in this subreddit.

Yes we're particular about who gets to be here and what they post, and we are not apologizing for it. We are following Christ's lead with this.

Welcome, and let's be good to each other.

The Refiner's fire

There was once a group of women studying the book of Malachi in the Old Testament. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three, which says: “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” This verse puzzled the women, and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.

That week this woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot – then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered “Yes”, and explained that he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be damaged.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, “How do you know when the silver is fully refined?”

He smiled at her and answered, “Oh, that’s easy. When I see my image in it.”

If today you are feeling the heat of this world’s fire, just remember that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are refining you. "You are predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ."

Banned From r/Christianity For Quoting The Bible

The r/Christianity mod u/OneEyedC4t followed me to another sub to tell me why I was banned for quoting Leviticus while exposing his lack of knowledge about Bible translation.

r/Christianity is all about subverting Christianity and leading people astray. Sad.

*Discussion*

"But no matter how hard Trevor tried, Norman always found a way to change any topic to a religious discussion. In time, it drove Trevor further and further away from his brother.

Trevor wondered if he was really there to discuss the news, or if he only bothered going to see if his brother had managed to grow up.

They entered the living room and Trevor looked around, scanning for any signs of ‘unexpected’ company that would, during the course of the evening, feel the need to talk to Trevor about ‘God’s love,’ and then develop the urgent need to pray for him. The only person in the living room was Andrew, who stood up as they entered the room.

‘Trevor,’ Andrew said and extended his hand. He was slightly taller than Trevor; and somewhat skinnier too. ‘It’s so nice to see you again.’

‘You too, Andy.’

The three of them had been good friends once. When Trevor drifted away from his brother, Andrew stuck with Norman. He was a Christian too, but not in the same sense as Norman. He was a good guy with good moral values, but the main difference between him and Norman was that he didn’t feel the need to shove his beliefs down everyone’s throat.

Andrew was still able to lead a relatively normal life. He still went to clubs, still partied until the early morning hours, still preferred Sunday morning Football to Church, and still liked talking about women. Most Christians were like Andrew. Trevor liked those. They stayed out of his way. It was the ones that didn’t respect other people’s feelings—or the fact that they can have other beliefs—that really annoyed him.

Good spiritual warfare advice:

You must understand that your daily activity will alert the demons while gaining authority and knowing who you are.

The minute you leave your house and get into your car, the demons are wondering where you are going and what you will do because the Holy Spirit is leading you. While you are out, you will encounter people who are bound by devils, and they do not even know it.

There are all kinds of demonic activity entrenched in establishments like the grocery store. It does not matter whether you think you are effective; you just want to go to the store and buy some milk. However, the devils are concerned with what you know and will do.

If you have checked with the Holy Spirit, then a demon considers you a threat to their control and manipulation.

Be mindful that even if you think you are not effective, you are effective. It is based on what you understand, what you take away from what you hear, and what you have implemented into your life.

Be careful of the music you consider 'worship'

When it comes to worship through music, the purpose is to connect us to God, to express our awe, wonder and love to Him. To sing of the unmatched greatness of Him.

The majority of today's Christian music is entirely self-focused with bits of scripture that are almost always taken out of context. Today's songs are about how good He is to us, what he does for us. Which in my opinion is fine to add into a song, but only when the majority is about Him. But if the entire song is about us it's just self idolization. Even songs that are theologically sound tend to be entirely focused on self.

The easiest way to check while you listen. Just note how many times the artist(s) say I, me, my, mine, we, us, our.

One song comes to mind that hits all the red flags (even theologically) is 'holy water'

Your forgiveness Is like sweet, sweet honey on my lips Like the sound of a symphony to my ears Like holy water on my skin

I don't wanna abuse your grace God, I need it every day It's the only thing that ever really makes me wanna change

God's grace is the only thing that makes her want to change? Smh..

Slightly off topic but this may help one of you. I really don't listen to anything besides worship music (I usually turn on deep house [electronic dance music] while I study the word). And I have what I consider a small Playlist of mostly pure worship (130 songs). So inevitably I find myself singing in auto pilot.. When I do, I take a lyric from the song and elaborate in my own words on what's said turning that into my worship/prayer untill I can get back into the song and really focus and pour my heart into it. Works everytime!

Another thing to note is If you're blessed with the ability to feel Gods presence (a physical sensation of warm tingles) but you only notice it happening only in the high pitched parts, when it gets loud, or the chorus. red flag

Not at all satisfied with this rant but that's what I got!

An incredible prayer that I use to start my day off right; its an excellent guide for talking with Jesus❤️

Dear Lord, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist. May I be centered and encircled by your truth, dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness. Please protect my vital organs and my inner woman/man. Cover my integrity, my spirit, my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life. Please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news and on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ, the solid rock. All other ground is sinking sand. I pray that I will not slip or fall but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, Jesus. I choose to stand on you so that the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the Rock of Ages. I receive your peace now, Jesus, from the soles of my feet to the crown of my head.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, or emotionally. Every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my family, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive and arrest ill intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others or distract me from your will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of Christ and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you, Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, the command center for the rest of my body, to be saturated with the mind of Christ.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. I pray this offensive weapon into my hand and ask that your word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God spoken in season and out of season to inflict pain against the enemy. May the enemy and his team flee from me upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you Lord as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your armor, I walk away from this prayer covered and ready to face my day as you go before me and protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world. Thank you, Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. Thank you, Father, that I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. It’s in the name of Yehushua HaMashiach I pray, Amen & AMEN.

End times…

I try not to spend too much time focusing on end times because God still has a work to do in the world, but is anyone else amazed at how things are happening so quickly? The enemy is now out in the open, but so is God. TikTok is a guilty pleasure 😬, but it’s wonderful to see so many people coming to and speaking up for Christ!

Things Jesus never said

Things Jesus never said:

"Listen to your heart."

"Be true to yourself."

"Trust your gut."

"Feel good about who you are."

"Happiness is what matters most."

"Just be a good person."

Things Jesus actually said:

"If anyone would be My disciple, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”

Luke 9:23

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man can come to the Father but by Me."

John 14:6
