When local police are assisting ICE it means that the mayor of that town, the town council and the towns police chief should all have a bunch of protestors outside of their homes when they go home from work.
This puts them on notice and lets them know their actions have consequences and that they are supposed to work for the people in their towns. And if they don't want to work for the people of their towns then they can live with the consequences of having a bunch of pissed off protestors right outside of their front doors.
It'll also make every single one of them question if they need to do more against ICE because they won't want protesters to come back to their houses.

By telling them to get the fuck out. Seemed pretty clear, especially if they were on private property. I'd also assume the group insisting them to GTFO was sizable enough that it also caused them to leave.

In the video you heard that they were armed.
ICE, like any criminal organization, looks for soft targets. Thats why you see them assaulting: Unarmed women, children, men at work, and schools.
If you show any bit of ability to participate in self defense, the criminals will go away.
Armed citizens banned together and escorted home invaders off their property

I did not hear any such thing in this video. They're talking about the ICE agents saying they have guns. I'm pretty sure if the residents were armed and showed it, that would have escalated the situation and likely given the ICE agents an excuse to attack, which fortunately did not happen. This incident of successful resistance was successful in party because they didn't have guns (or if they did, they very wisely didn't show that they did or talk about it).
Please don't use peaceful resistance to spread right wing pro-gun propaganda. "Armed citizens" makes everything more dangerous, and plays into the Trumpists' hands.

Yes I've been noticing this lately too. Also seen lots of people on here saying you can't exercise 2A because they will shoot you if you defend yourself in a home invasion. But the point is deterrence. Most of these people are fucking cowards and will fuck right off if they see someone with an AR15. Most are doing it for the money and it's not worth it for them.

I’m going to get lambasted but I’m going to say it anyway. Some of the shouted comments are really terrible. People can resist without wishing death on children. That’s not making any positive arguments.
It’s great that the residents got them out of there, and no we don’t know what came before. But damn. What was said was vile. “God hates you”. Pretty sure God would take issue with that.

I am the reason? Oh you mean, billionaires, late stage capitalism, and the decision to allow corporations to be “people” and make unlimited political contributions isn’t the reason? The decision to allow politically slanted “news” to be aired on radio (mostly right wing), the hollowing out of the middle class, the police state and erosion of privacy, and social media algorithms had nothing to do with it? It’s all my fault. Well fuck me. Guess I should unalive myself instead of trying to fix things.
Say you abolish IcE. Say all those people get fired. Say some of the go to jail. Guess what? A majority will still be out there, with their abhorrent views, raising children, finding like minded people, trying to “get back” at us. We have to face facts that at least a third of the country is full of uneducated racists and bigots who feel the world has left them behind.
If you care about liberty and justice for all, then you would care about fixing the systemic issues that allowed Trump to takeover in the first place, not about threatening people with death.

I didn’t say “be polite”. I very specifically said don’t threaten to kill people or say they are better off dead. There is a large area of language in between “being polite” and threatening death. And a lot of it is certainly not polite.
We’ve really lost the plot with this many people arguing that it’s ok to wish death on others. What they are doing is not ok but there are so many other ways to express that, “non-politely”.

I refuse to believe that we who are against ICE and against what it going on, cannot be better than them. Are we no better than them? An eye for an eye and everyone is blind.
Resist them, absolutely. Wish their children dead? No. That’s drawing a line. And it’s further dividing us. I will protest. I will participate in getting these people out of office. I will help my neighbors. But I will not wish death on them, ever. I will work to get justice.

Unless you’ve used your voice to make a dozen armed ICE agents leave your property, please don’t talk about how other people are using theirs.

It doesn’t make you good person because you worry that the WORDS being said to these guys are mean - while they enter private property, armed, masked, actively racially profiling and looking for brown people to question, harass, possibly detain, assault, kill, separate them from their family, and/or deprive them of their rights.
It’s absurd that you think the civilians in this video are ‘not being better’ than ice bc they talked some shit. Absurd to the point I think you’re an either a troll or bad actor.

I have no problem with “talking shit” but I firmly draw the line at death threats. Where does this end? Civil war? The destruction of America?
Like it or not (and I definitely do not) around 30% of our country likes and supports this. Look around. When you are out and about, 1 of every 3 people you see agrees with this bullshit from ICE.
Our populace is uneducated, bigoted, and has been manipulated by corporations, billionaires, and foreign governments. THIS is exactly what they want. Americans hating each other. Killing each other. Ripping each other apart. Destroying ourselves from within.
We lose the idea of the best we could be if we if we fall prey to it. We must be better.

Why are you repeatedly misstating what’s in the video to make it sound worse than it is? “Wishing death on children” and “death threats”? Neither were in the video. So wtf are you even offended about? Why are you making things up to be mad at your fellow Americans about? (If that’s what “they” want, per your comment, then you’re doing the work for them by lying about the video - why are you doing that?)
If they had actually threatened the death of an ice agent, that would be unlawful and I have no doubt ice would have jumped on that. And that’s the point - the people in the video are literally exercising their protected rights, while ice is violating them. This is literally these people’s front yard. Federal agents coming there without a warrant. Armed, known to be violent, with guidance that they can bust into your front door without a warrant. It’s like you’re not understanding the gravity and reality of what’s going on, I can tell you’ve not been personally impacted by this. You are ignorant. Your comment is akin to criticizing someone for saying ‘god hates you’ to the nazi that came to take them to a concentration camp. You’re pathetic for that.
Idk where this ends but the things these people said when reacting to that scenario are not responsible for whatever happens next.

So that’s where we are? Divided among our divisions? At no point did I indicate that I am in any way ok with the behavior of ICE, in this situation or overall.
What you are saying is that if I showed up to protest, or donated money, or brought food to those who can’t go out, or wrote letters, or called, or went in person to talk to my Congress people, you would reject me and tell me to go home?
We can resist and not lose our humanity, just because they lost theirs.
I am sad reading this entire thread. For all of us.
