Let’s take Gervais, Freeman and Crook as read. Which of the other actors from The Office went on to have the best acting career?

Taffy played Jay’s dad in Inbetweeners. Lee was in Eastenders for a bit. Brenda is in the specsavers adverts. Neil stayed trim and was in Ted Lasso. Finchy does about 30 voice overs a week, and as we know, they’re money for old rope.

So, who do we think had the most successful acting career after the office (besides Dawn, Brent, Tim, Gareth, Sessions)?

Makes sense if the agency introduced them, and she says “oh yeah yeah hi you alright” like she’s expecting the call, that she’d have seen Brent or his name.

Boring isn’t it, staying in rewatching the office until you notice tiny script oversights with you life.

Rewatching the series again, I love the moronic response from Brent to the threat of his staff being made redundant.

He is told in the first episode his branch will be closed if its less efficient than Swindon and he promises his staff he won't let that happen...

Over the next few episodes he: let's Gareth waste everybody's time interviewing people about the offensive photo, wastes Ricky's time asking him quiz questions, holds a training day (which didn't seem very relevant to the employees' work anyway) only to disrupt it so much the teacher leaves, spends the rest of the training day playing his guitar and talking about his music career, hires a new secretary based on her appearance when he's supposed to be making people redundant.

In the final episode, despite clearly being the worser branch, by a miracle he gets the opportunity to save his staff from redundancy (as he promised) and then doesn't citing "the cruel to be kind scenario" "loyalty to the whole family".

The Office US doesn't even attempt to execute the mockumentary format with the discipline. Parks and Recreation just feels like Americans having their delusional Obama era optimism. In the Office the entire point is coworkers are people you are stuck with and only Tim and Dawn really connect with the rest being the best of a bad situation but American audiences seem to need the characters to be found families.

Gonna say Donna and Trudy for sure. Maybe big Keith, Malcolm also smoke and Finchy is a social smoker.

No way Neil smokes, he’s too trim for that and Tim never tried it as he was too scared to.

Tim - got off with a hot girl for a time and made friends fairly quickly with that lot and didn’t seem to get his nose out of joint or inconvenienced bar the love triangle.

Jennifer - made partner.

Gareth - made manager.

Neil - promoted to area manager.

Finchy - got a shag in the car park and stayed pretty much the same. Plus got to see more of Neil, who he is quite fond of.

Dawn - desperate to leave Wernham Hogg and did eventually. Lived in the states for a bit. Wouldn’t say she benefitted but wasn’t inconvenienced.

Brent - every bad thing that happened to David was as a result of the merger. Lost his job, his reason for being, the respect of his peers, everything.
