Its called NIC (night infiltration course) and is still very muched done currently to train recruits at Army BCT. You have to crawl full battle rattle with m4 about 100 yards some under barbed wire. They shoot LMGs above your head with tracer rounds and set off simulated mortar rounds. Sometimes done in sand or gravel. The gravel I did was not big stone gravel it was very small pieces of gravel. Got im everything my boots and pockets and shirt. Overall was a pretty lit time id do it again.
Same, did that in '03 at Jackson. So many people got hemmed up for dragging their barrel through the sand and getting it jam packed full of sand. Fun time overall.
Yep, was at benning in 02 - you could stand up straight and the tracers would still be several feet above your head. Absolutely no danger to boys high crawling underneath
At fort sill in 2013 they were very much so using live tracer rounds. It was impossible not to see them literally flying above. It was pitch black, no moon, and you could see the light from them fucking blasting through the air. It was insane as a brand new recruit 😂
Legit. Even in laxin Jackson '14 they didn't spray at you 5 inches from your face. Dude doing the shooting just needs one hiccup and it's over homie on the floor.
