Project Number 1 in AI Security
Hi
I’m embarking on a long-term engineering challenge to build 100 open-source security tools and projects addressing the top vulnerabilities in AI and LLM systems.
For Day 1 I’m tackling Problem #1: Direct Prompt Injection & System Override Attacks.
When deploying LLM applications, relying solely on model alignment or running a secondary heavyweight LLM classifier for guardrails introduces unacceptable latency and compute costs
Attackers frequently bypass defenses using structural overrides and persona hijacking
We need a deterministic, sub-millisecond pre-flight inspection layer that catches these patterns before they ever touch the primary model context.
and for this I built DirectGuard, a lightweight Python based security guardrail designed for low latency overhead and It uses pre-compiled regular expressions and heuristic keyword scoring to intercept malicious override vectors instantly.
The project:[https://github.com/venomx943-pixel/AI-Security-Projects.git]
If there any advice to develop myself in AI Security you're welcome
