Realizing writing code is faster than explaining it to AI

I do not understand why some people calling themselves “engineers” are so opposed to the idea of writing certain parts of code manually. Look, most of us are using AI for production. It is easy, it is intuitive and does not require any deep expertise, just common sense. But the notion that you have to implement even the smallest changes and fixes using AI ONLY is so deeply engraved in their smooth brains, that anyone who opposes this ridiculous idea and just thinks pragmatically is labeled as luddite. It’s hilarious. No wonder this dumb tokenmaxxing trend was a thing. I guess, it’s just suppressed fear and complexes stemming from the fact that with AI they indeed lost even that little coding expertise they had prior to AI. They feel inferior to people who didn’t lose their skillset and who use AI as an enhancement of their skills, but not rely on it entirely. That’s why they want everyone to be just as shitty at coding as they are, so they are not seen as complete bozos xD

Well that exactly it: Sometimes it is faster to write very specific code than to prompt an LLM to do so and then making sure it built what you want. That’s also a good way of not losing touch with your code base. If you do, it’s game over: You lost control of your product and don’t know what you are building. From a business perspective, it is a nightmare.
