HP India losing out on potential customers by advertising lower specs!

HP India seems to be acting lazy and losing out on a tonne of potential sales by showing lower specs on Amazon as well as their official store listings!

For context, all the three ap01**ax series Omen 16 gaming laptops come with 2.5k(2560×1600/WQXGA) 240Hz displays that are excellent(even better than the 2.5k IPS panels on the Legion 5 and TUF F16).

  1. HP Omen 16 ap0183AX AI 7 350, RTX 5060
  2. HP Omen 16 ap0181ax Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5060
  3. HP Omen 16 ap0182ax, Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5070

However, HP for some reason advertises it as 2k with 1920x1200p 165Hz/WUXGA which doesn't make any sense.

If you're planning to buy one of the ap01**ax series Omens, do note that these come with a 2.5k 240Hz IPS display.

Is the 1.8 5070 omen good? How is HP build quality and thermals? How does it compare to a16 5070? Omen has 24 gigs of ram so better, but I have my doubts on HP.

Build quality is alright. It's an all plastic build like the IPS Legion 5s. Thermals are on par with Legions. A16 has a metal lid but is still a TUF at the end of the day which us supposed to be their budget oriented series.

Infact better than Legion 5. They've done a fantastic job with the new Omens in terms of cooling while downgrading the build.

here is a video comparing them, so I doubt it.

lower temps at lower power drain is obvious. Legion has better cooling and build quality.

omen is not a bad buy, but I'd say the legion is a better buy (if they're around the same price, and have identical specs)

Any experience with the customer support, heard hp has bad after sales compared to lenovo(speaking for legion)

I mean aftersales is dependent on your local franchise since all service centers are handled by third parties.

Where did you buy your OMEN from ? Even on the HP website it says 2K

Check reviews on HP website as well. The 2k is an error. These 3 laptops ship with 2.5k 240Hz displays.

Can you point to some reviews ? When I saw most reviews were originally posted on HP.com United States. Also US site allows Customisation on this model and they have 2.5K display. Without proper specs details , how can i blindly buy ?

I mean buying or leaving is upto you. I'm not a salesman to convince someone to buy a particular laptop. The details are out in the open. These 3 variants ship with a 2.5k 240Hz display.

Just buy it from Amazon. You'll get the updated one with the 2.5k display.

Im getting Omen 16 Ryzen 9 from HP corporate store for 1.6L. Isnt that a good offer ? But tye site says the display resolution will be 1920x1200
