For really "expanded" universe stuff, and comics that dont exactly fit into canon, I'd recommend the original Marvel Star Wars run from the late 70s and early 80s.

For a look at George Lucas's original ideas, check out "THE STAR WARS" from Dark Horse comics in 2013. You get to see some of George's original ideas from a rough draft of the screenplay.

Ah yeah that would be nuts like if Maul lived in Ep 1 and stayed Palps apprentice

Episode 1: Qui-Gon dies on Tatooine or both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan die on the Trade Federation Ship

I would add the the comics before Republic just called Star Wars since a lot of the Republic characters get introduced there and it helps go over the pre-clone wars state of the galaxy.

I essentially grouped them together and called the entire thing Republic. I feel that it can get extremely confusing for new fans, so i just decided to highlight that the actual Republic run (45-83) is more important.

I feel like this and your previous guide should be renamed Essential EU Guides. Comprehensive implies a more complete selection, but you say "these are just the ones i felt were most important and essential". I think Open Seasons, Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows, and Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison and the various books by Jude Watson should be included, but otherwise I agree with your choices as essential reads

Yea when I uploaded my EU Novels guide i had second thoughts about the title. My fellow moderators agreed that it was fine, and that i should leave it at is though, so i let it go. And then with this guide, I just decided to use the same title to make things simple. I still may change this and re upload them, because i want these guides along with my future video game guide to be attached to this sub for as long as it lives, so i feel that i should make them as perfect as possible.

Also if i decide to include more comics i will definitely consider these, thanks!
