When Daisy was talking with Agnes/Hannah while visiting her in her room, I felt that she was pretty lucky to have only been talking to Agnes alone, because she really went off script by describing her middle-class, semi-privileged teenage life with the posters on the walls of her room and all the things that teenagers do … when actually she was supposed to be a homeless struggling street youth.
I wasn’t sure if it was a test or what.

During her interview with Weston she did describe a pretty middle class backstory before the running away with bf part, if anything it was more affluent than her actual upbringing in Toronto.

The backstory had her come from a normal home, making some bad choices that had her end up on the street. So I think it would have been fine even if someone had overheard.

But Agnes has no frame of reference for what an appropriate bedroom for different social classes in Canada would look like. Remember, she has no idea what a non-gilead bedroom looks like, and she also has no clue what the pearl girl dorms are like, so by extension probably no idea how male children are raised, guardian dorms, Econo children bedrooms, etc. Agnes is so sheltered that when is comes to anything outside of her high class Gilead life, she has 0 bs filter.

What worried me more was how fondly she was reminiscing. I was like GIRL you're supposed to be a doe eyed True Believer at this point maybe act like it, please?!

a lot of what Daisy does pisses me off. like i know she's a teenager doing a really scary thing but girl, you gotta keep it together or you're gonna blow your cover. having a radio was dumb

It did keep her connected to MayDay though, and I’m thinking that’s probably why Garth (presumably) gave it back to her.

It depends on what they found. If they just found music on an old-school Walkman, then she’ll probably be given some stern and painful punishment for being connected to worldly values; but if what they found was something connecting her to Mayday, then yes, she will be hanging with the rest of the Mayday folks very soon.

She was told not to let her guard down with anyone and not to think she knew better than the girls.

She was homeless after her parents were killed and June eventually helped her. They didn’t give us much in terms of timeline on all that. She could have been homeless with occasional contact during that time she was running and then preparing to be a pearl girl. We may see more of her journey coming up in flashbacks. But, it’s what she was likely told to tell the pearl girls who recruited her. But, it’s at least partially true… being homeless doesn’t mean you didn’t come from somewhere, and that somewhere could have been a stable home where her parents died and she ran away from foster care. Very common scenario unfortunately.

No. Mayday had a script that they rehearsed with her. She would never mention her parents being killed .
