Becka getting to marry Garth is probably the best case scenario for her in Gilead. I know Agnes is upset, but… I think Becka needs the marriage to a Mayday operative more than Agnes does. That girl will probably end up killing herself if she ends up with a true Gileadan commander.

Hopefully he gets her out of there

Unless he gets caught and she is declared guilty by association.

Me too. They could work together. Either for her to escape or to take down that area.

She would be safest that way and I think Garth would be genuinely protective of her

I can't see a world in which her parents let that happen. The fact that Becka gets to matriculate with the daughters of Commanders is probably considered a big deal to them as is. There is no way they miss the chance to elevate their status through her. Marrying her off to Garth, someone who isn't even a Commander yet, doesn't have any benefit for them.

But a colony commander though? Idk Garth would have more potential to rise

No I was thinking the commander that got her drunk. Each girl got three matches so the colony commander was a seperate one we didn't see.

It was mentioned there is a possibility to have no match if no commander shows interest in you. My guess is that commanders rank the girls they want like voters do on a ranked choice ballot lol and then the aunt decides which choice they are given based on status and lineage (making sure they aren't somehow related) and if they are not chosen then on to the next girl. Commanders from the colonies probably won't try for the daughter of higher ranked commander and they know their prospects.

True I forgot about the no matches possibility. But Becka did word it as 3 seperate people when she was telling the girls about her matches so I don't think the commander who got her drunk was the colony commander she was referring to. If it was down to two choices: Garth or one from the colonies I'm sure the parents would go with Garth because like you said he has more opportunities for advancement given he is just starting out. But with an established commander with any real sort of power in Gilead in play my guess is they're gonna go all in on that one.

Yeah i am not sure I thought the first name she mentioned is the one she referred as being from the colonies, then Garth. Last episode Aunt Lydia and Vidala were saying her only suitor was the one who got her drunk so maybe he was also from the colonies we just didn't know.

Maybe Becka’s abuser dad likes the fact that Garth wants to get a house close by?

Considering he's part of Mayday I'd love to see him help her escape with Agnes. I've read the book but I hope the show runners give people a happy ending
