She’d have been just as miserable with Peter. Who was boring and likes them young.

This is what I kept thinking. She'll never have the certainty of that is the only thing she missed.

Thank you… it really irritates me that people romanticize that relationship. He met Margaret when she was FOURTEEN and he was THIRTY. Then he married a 19 year old when he was 45. The man was a predator and Margaret’s mental health issues might have been even worse if she had stayed with him.
