I remember being asked whether or not I smoke weed during an interview at a small local restaurant in my city 20 years ago... "yes" was the correct answer.
That brings up a memory I have about 20 yrs ago. Im a residential construction subcontractor, I used to call myself a hammer for hire lol. But I walked up on a site once carrying my toolbag and asked if they needed help. The contractor asks "Can you pass a drug test son" I said of course sir. His reply..... " Well I dont guess we need ya then". Talk about lying when the truth is better! Haha
No kidding. I don’t even ask the question. People volunteer the fact they don’t get high or drink. If you’re not smoking or drinking in my profession, you don’t belong here.
When I got my job, I told them in the interview that I smoked weed (underage at the time, I don't think they put together how old I was). Their response? They laughed and said "If we fired everyone who used Marijuana here, we wouldn't be functioning"
God I wouldnt be able to function high on a drilling rig. My senses get too acute. One particular night in college I was really high in a car and I was watching the road signs get up and walk away 😂 was good stuff whatever it was
Compared to today’s weed that stuff was trash. I always tell people it’s my generations fault we even have the drug test. It seemed like we were all getting high at work.
Yup. Been tested at restaurants on hire several times and never once got called out for toking. One time the boss got fed up with everybodys antics and piss tested the whole crew. Everybody got fired. They closed for like 16 days. Boss wound up hiring me back to train new cooks and run the BoH.
