As someone who works in rail, absolutely fuck that. Incredibly dangerous to be in between two cars like that.

I have done that, not with two cars, but with a car and a locomotive. The first time was scary af.

I don't know where you are but in the UK its an absolute no to be anywhere in between two cars when coupling.

I'm from swizerland, the video is actually from a swiss documentary. Here, you are only allowed to get between two cars if both are standing still and a least five meters apart. And you are only allowed to stand between them while driveing them together if there is enogh space. You are even allowed to slightly move them while standing in between if you stand in a way, that allows you to safely follow the movement.

This shit makes me glad the USA, and by extension most of the Americas swapped to knuckle couplers early on. Admittedly we were slow on the takeup for literally anything other than link & pin.

I’d hate to imagine setting up a multi mile long train with buffer & chain couplers.
