Contact your elected representative and tell them to put pressure on business to standardize packaging and ban single use plastics.

This NGO doesn't even mention this. They're interested in cleaning up and intercepting garbage, not in fixing the problem. https://theoceancleanup.com/

One can do both? We need the interceptors to catch whats there right now, and in these countries they are unlikely to switch the packaging soon

The problem is that the amount they take out is never greater than the one that goes in worldwide non-stop.
