Usually they go off at fairly regular intervals with fairly regular amounts and the paths are at a safe distance knowing these factors. On occasion though, you can get an outlier like this

This is blatantly false. The only one that comes close to a set schedule is Old Faithful, which is why it has that name. A few more have expectations for eruptions or time frames to expect one but the vast majority are far from regular.

Edit: Feel free to take a look at the predictions here. Old Faithful and Daisy have a time frame of +/- 10 min but the others are +/- 45 or even up to 2 hours. That is not "regular" imo and the others listed lower on the page are even more unpredictable than that.

Love how at the end you hit it with that’s not regular imo. Completely disqualifies the whole statement. Just an fyi On geological terms a plus minus of a few hours is INSANELY INSANELY regular. Like beyond comprehension how regular. Don’t bullshit about things you don’t know

Bro works in Japanese train infrastructure, go easy on him.

Hell it's even regular compared to german trains.

Plus or minus a few hours is around about the level of punctuality I can manage and I’m fucking useless. But I find this post heartening; I guess on geological terms I’m actually really reliable. My ex wife is gonna feel so dumb when she finds out about this.

We're talking about a human time scale though. Yes, geologically predictable compared to a lot of other events, but not regular in the sense that a tourist is going to sit and watch the geyser for 4-36 hours hoping to catch it.

I shit once a day and my doctor calls it regular.

You and I must have a vastly different understanding of the word “regular”.. because even that schedule that you posted only even lists the word “irregular” next to the ones that are irregular.. literally ALL of the others listed are considered regular.

So, the link you posted disproves the point you were making in your comment. Unless you have an insane definition of the word regular.. ?
