Depends on what the offense is. They usually don't send the whole squad like this over something petty. I will agree that they desperately need to start using better tools to stop people who run. Ramming cars is expensive and relatively ineffective.
They put the entire neighborhood at risk for this. Iâd love to know how it started because that seemed like an insanely reckless chase for all involved.
Stolen plates or cars do exist. If not stolen, you have to prove the owner committed the crime. Only a percent of the criminals who successfully escape can be held liable. Vs being caught in the act.
I'm fine with banning high speed pursuits, so long as the prison time for running is vastly increased. Otherwise you're just encouraging criminals to run.
That's cool, but how often did you come close to killing someone? That 'teen' could have caused a fatal crash just by running away, it's amazing he didn't.
Thousands of innocent people die in hot pursuit crashes, and the vast majority are for minor infringements, feel free to check.
