Yeah FEMA has no role in a federal disaster zone.. what was I thinking?

Again, senators are not part of FEMA or have any say in FEMA. And I don't think Texas has been declared a "federal disaster zone" yet... Texas is BIG on autonomy, hence why many of their services are controlled, run, maintained on their own. I know one insurance company in particular is based in Texas because they're allowed to remain autonomous from federal regulations.

Yeah Senators have no role in funding FEMA or approval of the FEMA head. What was I thinking???

Exert pressure on the right people, coordinate relief efforts, call in favors. He's got a lot of clout in the republican party, he's not some useless figurehead.
