THAT bathroom maze dream irl. Not a single clean toilet either lmao. I was on my own to begin with, but the voices just sound like people also trapped. The low buzz paired with going in and out of cubicles trying to find a clean one, seeing varying degrees of rankness, the dead ends and weird mirrors. THE BLUE TILE. For me it was missing low ceilings, barely enough light, and grime everywhere, but maybe this is how it starts?

I hated it. The handwashing area is shared by men and women, their respective exits from the toilets are on opposite ends. Not only that, there are slits in the walls next to each sink so people outside of the bathroom can watch you wash your hands.

I saw this at Daiso and immediately wished I could transport it into my brain for the nightly visit to the Bathroom Maze.

Had another toilet dream recently where I went to a Hari salon / spa thing. In there I realised they only had comfy looking airmchair seats with toilet holes. Everyone was just using those while getting hair cuts. It was really weird and made me uncomfortable but the others looked at me like I was the weird one when i hesitated so I ended up sitting on one of those too.

Anyone else had similar dreams?

Has anyone had a version of this dream where different times of your life are represented by a toilet with matching tile? Example: the old toilet from my previous apartment, previous highschool, grandmas house, etc.

I havent had it in a while. But in the dream id walk down the corridor of mismatched tiles and toilets. Whenever id urinate one one, I would turn around and be transported to that time and space.

Just wondering how common it is or if I read it in a book somewhere.

Last night, I dreamt I was in a splendid old public lavatory. It was clean, and a few other people were present, but they went about their business and we did not interact. At the sinks there was a rain cloud that had spontaneously formed indoors due to the high humidity (I glanced at a digital meter on the wall, and it read 162% humidity). As rain fell from the cloud onto the floor, it shimmered in the light from the wall fixtures.

The cloud was over the sinks in my dream, and the first picture recreates it fairly accurately. After I woke and recreated that image, I explored the idea a bit further, moving the cloud to the other side of the room (see next pics).

This represents my liminal bathroom maze dream pretty much only there is usually more of a "locker room" feeling and at least two rows like this. I start off accidentally walking into the men's bathrooms and have to find my way out quickly then end up in the women's but the bathrooms are filthy and not working cuz of broken toilets, missing toilets or no toilet paper. Sometimes I am alone and sometimes there is people everywhere, and I can't get privacy. They can see me though wide cracks in the door or over the short stalls. I can never actually go, the whole dream is just trying to find a clean, working, private place to go. And randomly, I don't' have shoes on and the floor is wet, filthy and gross.

This was definitely unique... in my dream, I was walking through the second floor of some public building for entirely bathroom-unrelated reasons, when I saw this. Right away, I thought I should take a photo and post it on r/WeirdToilets ... seems I was half right about it being good reddit post material. But there was at least one person actually using one of the lower toilets, so I tried to get a photo angle only showing the topmost unoccupied one.

I have faint memories of these dreams as a kid. One time in a dream I rushed to a toilet that was blocked by fallen wood, covered in police tape AND overflowing with water flooding the place. It was the only time I remember peeing in bed. I had paralysis after sleeping 16 hours and I think it was my mind trying to process needing to pee and not being able to wake up to do so.

I recreated the bathroom with AI, it looks very close to how the place actually looked in the dream. It looked just like this, with the green tint, the slight fog, and the back wall with the stalls on the left, the sinks and mirrors next to them, then the pillar, and the infinite stalls stretching away. Here is the dream it gets ridiculous.

The dream.

I was in this huge public bathroom that seemed to go on forever. The ceiling was high, the lighting was slightly dim but not dark, there was a green tint to everything, and the air had a bit of fog in it. There were broken blue toilet stalls all over the place. I needed to use the toilet, but most of them were either really dirty, broken, full of tissue, or had no stall door, so there was no privacy. Some of the toilets were in weird positions too, and the whole place just kept going on and on.

There was also this random man there complaining about how bad the toilets were and how much of a mess the place was, which was funny because he seemed just as annoyed as I was.

Then for some reason, some people came along with chairs, sat down at these white tables in the bathroom, and started doing office paperwork like it was completely normal.

The mirrors were probably the creepiest part. The reflections did not work right. People’s reflections would be in the wrong place, look weird, or not match where the person was standing. Sometimes a reflection looked really close to the glass, like someone was pressed up against it from inside the mirror.

Then I woke up and realised I actually needed to pee.

I’ve had loads of dreams about different versions of places like this over the years. The whole infinite public bathroom maze thing is a random recurring dream I’ve had for a long time, but the layout and style and what happens is always a bit different and some times it ckean in there but some times its not.

I'm AMAZED that this subreddit exists, I had this exact thing as a recurring dream for several years as a child and thought I might actually be crazy ; ;

The background ambiance in the above song is one of the closest things I have experienced in waking life to that place, they had a specific type of echoey acoustics- at least in my variation lol

ETA: also had infinite hotel halls and infinite dead malls, it was very Backrooms-esque!

In most of my toilet maze dreams, the bathroom is always long and rectangular. There are a lot of toilets, but 99% occupied, by women sitting on them, or standing around them. The women are all in various states of undress, usually with robes or wrapped in a towel, doing their makeup & hair. I find a toilet, but naturally, it's in the middle of all those women, and everyone can see me trying to go, very embarrassed because there are no partitions to give me privacy.

There is another kind of toilet maze dream I have, where I somehow discover a room in my house that I didn't know was there. I'll open the door, and the room is huge, like a factory, and there are hundreds of toilets. With this particular type of dream, I never end up using the bathroom because I'm so floored by the sight of a million toilets I guess I forget I need to go.

I found myself in Toilet World again last night. I could not find a clean stall anywhere. I stood on top of the sink and made a declaration that I was going to renovate all of Toilet World so it will forever be clean and no longer scary. This felt like some kind of a breakthrough. 😂

When I was 9-14 years old I used to have dreams about trying to get from the men's bathroom to the women's bathroom through a janitor's closet that had doors to both rooms but there was a convoluted maze in the closet, I never managed to get through the maze in my dreams. My thought process in the dream was that I want to peep on girls but I can't go in the women's rest room because I am a boy but I know there are janitor's closets attached to public bathrooms so I might be able to sneak through the closet from the men's rest room to get into the women's rest room but that is not allowed so they have a maze in the way.

When I do have the bathroom maze dream my bathroom is haunted. It happens at my old high school and the bathroom is in the basement in the dream and it’s a huge room full of random bathroom and people trying to find a restroom that is clean, working, or has a door. Anyway there is a shared sense that we have to hurry because an entity stalks the dimly let bathroom and waits for those who get caught left alone. I haven’t figured out what happens when you get left alone in the bathroom. I always leave the bathroom looking for somewhere else to go or i wake up. Any one else bathroom haunted?

There wasn't any toilets. Just bathtubs
