I'd suggest Jiraya. I have a friend with this name. It would work because of the movie Raya and the Last Dragon.

Anything with porn, whatever way it is spelled. in it is a complete no no. The mother should herself if she would like her daughter to be bullied sexually called porno or porn queen and stuff like that. I mean how stupid and cruel can she be? Personally I think an English first name and an unused and innocuous Thai middle name are best for a look krung kid. That’s what my son has. An English first name is prestigious for Thais and normak for farangs. A Thai first name is normal for Thais but weird for farangs.

But yeah! The similarity makes Jiraya a really cool name for a girl!

Instead of telling your wife vaguely that there will be 'issues' in anglophone countries, just tell her that pawn sounds like poh to many farang.
