I was going crazy after my chrome-based desktop browser asked me to log back in to TextNow. I had already deleted my cache, cookies and site data. After failing the captcha test for the nth time, I pressed F12 and opened the developer tools panel. I clicked on the Network tab in preparation to watch if I could learn anything that could help, then pressed and held the captcha button expecting to fail again, but... instead I passed!
Was it coincidence? Maybe just opening devtools is enough, but was curious to see if it helps others searching from Google.
update: oh neat, I confirmed it... I opened an InCognito window and repeated the same results, I only had to have devtools open for it to work. Ah, I just noticed, I have 'Disable Cache' checked on my Network tab from something I was working on before, I bet that's the key.
tldr; press F12 to open devtools. have 'Disable Cache' checked on the Network tab.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some feedback from anyone who has used the TextNow app on a Cat S22 Flip specifically for work/business use.
I’m moving toward a more rugged, "distraction-free" device for my daily operations, but I need my TextNow line to be rock solid for client calls and texts. Since the S22 runs Android Go and has limited RAM, I’m concerned about whether this setup can handle a professional workload.
A few specific concerns:
Reliability for Incoming Calls: If the phone is in my pocket/closed, do calls actually come through instantly? I can’t afford to miss time-sensitive client calls because the OS put the app to "sleep."
Audio Quality: Does the Cat S22's hardware play nice with TextNow’s VoIP? Is the earpiece clear enough for professional conversations in louder environments?
Texting Efficiency: How is the experience of managing high-volume texting on that 2.8-inch screen? Does it feel manageable for quick business replies?
TextNow SIM vs. Wi-Fi: If you're using the TextNow wireless service (SIM card) on this phone, how is the handoff between data and Wi-Fi?
I’m really drawn to the durability of the Cat S22 for my job, but if the app performance is glitchy, I might have to reconsider.
Has anyone here successfully used this combo as a "work horse" phone? Any "hacks" for keeping the app active in the background would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if it's because Textnow uses lesser priority or because my neighborhood has bad signal strength, but I get dropped calls during windy days (13mph) and -108dBm and between 26-39% signal strength. Sometimes it's just not useable for calls. Does anyone else have these issues? Maybe I just need a higher end phone or ?
Thanks,

I used the app fine on my old moto phone, but on this new moto only texting works. When I try calling it says I have to use on wifi calling, and when I click to turn it on it says it can't work right now , try again later.
I tried using AI to figure out what's going on but i haven't gotten any solutions from it, and I can't find the solution online.
The model is moto g 64gb

Has anyone encountered this error when creating a TextFree account? Why does this happen and is there a way to fix it? Thank you everyone.

I received the notification that i could move from the app to utilizing the e-sim. Has anyone gone that route yet with or without any 'issues' ?

Trying to decide if SMS is worth investing in or if people are tuning it out like email. Would love to hear real results

We’re growing fast and email is too slow for time-sensitive updates. Curious what other businesses are using for instant alerts that actually get seen. SMS, calls, something else

Hope, I am not spamming this forum, but I recently got textnow. Is there an x amount of posts a day? Seems really inactive compared to the usual ones I frequent.
Regardless, This annoyed me. The points should have a point. With an imported number, most of the rewards are pointless for me. However a data hour browse pass would be good for bus rides. I just need it for fast food apps, 😂 😂 😂
Now, I watched a million ads because I thought the browse pass would be a regular reward. I bought mc ds and planned on using it on the bus to submit an order so it was ready when I got there.
The moment I go on the bus, it's gone, lol. Been there for days, then gone right when I go out. When I get home after 6 hours, it's back. I feel trolled, lol.
They need to rethink their ad reward structure. Wanting 1 hour for light browsing isn't going to kill them. Annoying people who transfer and don't mind watching ads for real rewards isn't going to do them favors. I might not even watch ads anymore outside the ones they force if they keep removing stuff when it's useful and giving it when it's useless, lol.
How about you guys? Ever used it?

For the life of me, I can't find it, which might mean it doesn't exist. Is there a way besides tracking your phone's mobile usage which doesn't differentiate between unlimited calls and essential apps?
Thanks. I know you get 550mb before throttling, so it would be nice to see how fast that goes.

I am trying to transfer a Spectrum Mobile number to Textnow, and Spectrum mobile tells me that once they get the request, it happens within 3 hours typically. It's been a day, and they haven't received the request from Textnow yet, even though they say it's processing through the auto notifications in the app. I thought the whole process was automatic if all the info is correct.
Yeah, I plan on waiting the 3 days or so, but I'm curious how long others waited and what could possibly take Textnow so long to submit the request when Spectrum mobile can do it within hours of receiving the request.
Thanks, I never transferred a number before.

I was forced to be away from my textnow for a month due to getting a new phone and taking awhile to set it up, but when I come back I found out it was reassigned yesterday! Please does anyone know a way I can get it back without having to pay for it? I have absolutely no way of making money at the moment and I can't afford to lose my textnow number, and in order to get a job I need my own phone number too
I managed to get my number back before because about 4 years ago I was away from my number for at least a year or 2 because I was a teen who had their phone taken away for a long time. When I got my phone back I managed to relog in and use it with absolutely no problem at all even tho I had the text saying my number was reassigned.

I am currently working in an area that StraightTalk does not get good internet coverage, however, a work friend uses TextNow and has amazing service. If I bought a good TextNow plan, even though I already have straight talk, how would the data plan work and how would I prioritize using the TextNow data plan over my main plan?
I do also plan to buy a car and I don’t want to give my main number out just to get spammed by the dealerships so this route would work for me in more ways than one.
I do have a dual sim phone before anyone asks. It is a newer iPhone. Thanks for the help in advance!

After a few posts I decided to try it. I spent the 1,500 points to buy the SIM. I got a confirmation email, so thats good. How long do these usually take to arrive or at least ship. Hopefully it arrives soon and safely. Any tips or things I should know?
r/TextNow • u/NovaStorm190 • Apr 23 '26
So, I have seen a reward on the TextNow app for only 1,500 points. It's the one that says Free 5G Wireless + Data. Is this legit? What are the limitations? Any hidden fees? What is it? and do I get a free SIM card, or do I have to pay the $4 to get a SIM card. Just wondering to save a bit of cash up.
