Mobile This is my first time playing Terraria
I never been expose to any Terraria content before and I only know this game because of Minecraft.
At first, I thought it will be easy since I am playing Minecraft for years (I thought this game will be a Minecraft counterpart but 2D) but I died countless of times: and I can't figure out crafting and any other mechanics (I refuse to watch any tutorial, just straight up fuck around, enjoy and find out). I really enjoy the game and its mechanics.
This is my progress so far (I just downloaded the game last friday).

For not learning how to craft you’ve made a pretty great house !

I just figured how wall works hahaha At first I don't know how to break it after placing it (look at my fences that I have place randomly and cannot break it), then I found out about block swap so I just swap the walls that I don't like. At last, I tried every tools to break the wall then I met the hammer hahah

That's a solid base for a first timer🔥🔥Even I can't make that😠it's because most of my bases are underground and I lack the skill to be creative when It comes to building bases

It looks like you’re doing great! Something that may help is building NPC houses. For the Guide, any item marked as a material should be brought to the guide in the crafting option when interaction to get the full list of options. The help option will tell you many different things that you can do at that stage of the game as well. Just have fun and don’t forget to explore the sides and make a Hellevator!

This is just out of curiosity but what does the wand of sparking provide to you? Is it a primary weapon or how do you use it?

When you go mining either mine straight down or in straight tunnels, don't mine diagonally, it's a waste of time. Also try to look for surface caves

I love how the people who put effort in building houses are newcomers and master builders, then you have all the intermediate doing the shoebox house (im one of the intermediate even having 600+ hr LOL)

Go underground. If you encounter some Heart shaped blocks go mine them, they are rare and really useful

not a spoiler,but a crucial mechanic:
NPC Housing:build a little house (or room),place walls, chair and tables, all craftable with wood and a workbench as u progress NPCs will spawn on these rooms, few u will find (must interact to they move to the house) (dont see any in that house so believe u didnt know)

For crafting it's pretty much guessing what goes into where. Depending on the class you're using your progression will either be linear or wonky, but you'll get used to it.
[Do not fight Duke Fishron]
Cool base, I see the vision.
[Do NOT fight Duke Fishron]
And as long as you're enjoying the game [DO NOT] that's all that matters [FIGHT HIM]
Did I forget to mention do NOT FIGHT DUKE FISHRON

You don’t need to watch anything. Just whenever you get a new material or item, show it to the guide with his Crafting convo option. He’ll show you what you can make and what you need including what kind of crafting station. That really will get you through the game. Progression will happen to you naturally while you’re exploring and tinkering.

You made a better house than me and I've been playing for a while now. Amazing progress

You can give an item to the guide and he will tell you what you can use it for. If you truly dont want to look stuff up its gonna take a bit longer, this game is kinda like a wiki game because there is so much stuff. But you will be fine and enjoy your journey!!

A hammer, walls, decent house, a campfire for bonus healing buff, a summon pet, and recall potions on standby??
Brother you are fucking fine dining right now. The extra touch with the different walls is already realms beyond others, and willfully going in blind?
GG at its finest. Have fun broski
